The specifications say the Kadet will work with blades up to 40mm wide. Will it work with my chef's knives that are aprox 50mm wide? The K03 Expert System does not give a specification. I would prefer to use the Kadet if it will work.

Also, on their website, the K03 Expert System says it does not include any abrasives. Is this correct with what you are offering?

Last question for now, is shipping included or is that additional? 54021 would be where mine would be going to.

BRL , I’d have to measure them but I’ve done every knife in my wife’s kitchen.
This was a tester knife I used before sharpening any of hers.

Here are my biggest kitchen knifes.

Based on this video where at 11:30 the guy sharpens a Junglas, I'd say I'm good to go.
https://youtu.be/PJ5oPw6kODA

I've had it with my WE. I love the dual clamps on this. That's a big problem solver

You may want to look at the country of origin when figuring the delivery date of anything not in your hands already.
Not trying to throw politics in there, this is a practical consideration under the circumstances.

I anticipate spending Saturday becoming familiar with my new Kadet.

Digital angle gauge, 2 kangaroo leather stops, and diamond polishing paste arrived today. Just waiting on the Kadet to arrive tomorrow.

My wife dips concerned I will make the Wusthof knives too sharp and she will cut herself. Trying to convince her she is more likely to cut herself with a dull knife.

How about the digital angle gauge - what brand/supplier did you purchase it from?

Also, will one of these be a help or a hindrance to a newby in the world of knife sharpening?

GrumpyBiker knows much more than me but I purchased one on Amazon also.

I like the suggestion of recording the edge angle of my knives when I determine it so that I can easily set the sharpener to the correct angle without having to determine it each time.

My sharpening kit arrived today. The packing got a little dinged up but everything seems to be OK. The worst part was the styrofoam crumbled into the tiniest little round pieces and got into all the cracks and crevices. Thankful for air compressor !!! It is assembled now and
I'm looking forward to trying it out tomorrow.
Thank you Tommy for putting the group buy together, and fast fast delivery!
I now own 2 Kadets, one for sharpening knives and the other for my CZ 75B.

I watched a few videos, sharpened a $15 Keyshaw first. Used the Sharpie tip to find the angle.

Next up was a Benchmade Mini Presidio II Automatic.

Next was a Wustof Classic paring knife.

This morning was a Wustof Classic Chef’s knife.

Used all 5 plates then a kangaroo leather strop with 14,000 grit diamond powder paste and another kangaroo leather strop with 100,000 grit diamond paste.

I looked up the factory edge angles for the Benchmade and Wustoff knives.

I always considered myself good at sharpening the way my dad taught me, different grit Arkansas stones, a butcher’s, steel, and a barber’s strop. Always have sharp knives.

Now, they are much sharper.

This morning, I needed to put a few drops of oil on the screws for the blade clamps. They were stiff. Probably got some grit in the threads.

I have more Wustof Classic knives to sharpen, an old Case XX carbon steel butcher knife of my father, some hunting knives, and several custom knives.

The hand-made custom knives will get much more attention and polishing.

Very pleased so far.
