I'm considering driving for Wingz part time for fun money. It looks like you take people to doctor appointments etc. I'm at step 1 and don't need the money so I can bail anytime. Anyone with experience with this company? TIA8

Commercial drivers license, commercial insurance, other stuff. Hauling people for hire will require you to have USDOT Numbers on your car.

Update....don't waste your time. One dollar per loaded mile. You might make a little money in the right urban market but out here in the RFD I can't drive 3 miles to pick someone up and haul them a couple miles to the doctor, wait to pick them up for a couple miles home then back to my house for $4. Laughable.

I believe these services are now allowed under the medi welfare programs, you couldn't pay me enough to haul these people around. Solely based on stories from my wife that works in an ER

I have a rule that is to never trust a company whose name uses a regular word but changes the S to a Z.

It's worked well for me so far.

I have talked to several Uber drivers during being driven.

If you are in a reasonably populated area I am hearing they are making a steady income but less than they used to.

Uber cut their compensation.

Other have told me it is in the range or 15-30 dollars an hour.

I would not do the medical thing for the reasons listed.

Do Uber and Lyft drives have all that? Just asking.

I similarly do courier stuff. No people, no food. Mostly prescriptions lately, and tires.

You're lucky if they have normal drivers licenses and insurance.

You do not need a CDL to work for Lyft or Uber.

Who do you do courier work for? As a retiree I was thinking of doing something part time to help pay off the new truck I just bought.

I had guys I worked with in Pennsylvania that got in on a "use your car" small package express courier service. They made a few deliveries then found out that they would be illegal without commercial insurance, license and required to have DOT numbers on their cars. Just the cost of commercial insurance alone caused them to quit.

Why if they were under a 10,000 pound GVW?

I don't know. Perhaps a PA DOT number. Just remembering what they said. It was prior to 2001.
