Dealer got most everything prepped for me this weekend just needed to make sure it passed my inspection on things we had agreed upon for me to take delivery since they were bringing it in for me sight unseen. Stuff like not been smoked in, a dog could not have scratched up the interior plastic trim panels, no major blemishes beyond normal wear and tear, major signs of body repair etc.
So here it is my 2016 Ford Expedition EL 4WD!

Sadly, it did not get to come home today. There were a few things that I took issue with so they are going to go ahead and take care of all that for me and I'll get to pick her up in a few days.
They are replacing the driver's side headlight as it looks to have gotten hit with something and has a big spiderweb up towards the top.
The rear windshield is being replaced as some schmuckity schmuck clearly had the rear wiper running for an extended period of time with the rubber missing from the blade as there was quite the rainbow scored/etched into the glass.
As you can see the tires were complete crap so they are being replaced.
There is a pretty big paint flake off the front driver fender flare. No crease dent or damage just a flake.
The passenger side windshield weather strip was damaged so it is being replaced. No signs of water getting in along the A pillar there.
The pull cord that drops the 2nd row headrest which in turn allows the seat to fully fold up was all jacked up so they are fixing that.
They are also going to tint the windows for me.

Man, this thing drove like a dream, just as smooth and quiet at the van. This thing for as big as it is will flat get up and move!!!!

So in my normal fashion, can't get a vehicle and not tinker with it so here are my plans for the modifications.

WeatherTech Floor Liners (already ordered)
Window Visors (WeatherTech or AVS still trying to compare the 2)
Front Seat Heaters
Catzkin leather for the front seats since the cloth is going to be off to add the seat heaters. Thinking of black leather sides, with the black perforated leather centers, and silver stitching. For the rear seats I already have a big quilted water proof cover since we have 3 car seats. I'll do the leather on the rear seats later down the road when they are no longer covered all the time.
AEM drop in dry air filter
Hellwig front and rear sway bars
Some sort of ODBII diagnostic vehicle monitor. That will show me different gauges, like boost, transmission temp, TPMS levels, etc. Most tuners provide a nice screen and user interface for this. I have not decided if I am going to put a tune on this or not. Folks are claiming 5 Star and Livernois offer a really good 87 Octane tune that bumps up the power a bit but really make sthe thing even more pleasant to drive.
So I may just get the Torque app or the like for now and find a place to mount my iPad mini for the display.
Skid Plates from the F150 bolt right up with just some slight trimming to the front bumper where it mounts up front.
A 3" lift and 33" tires is calling me a little bit. But my wife has to park in a parking garage once a week and I am not sure it will accommodate the lift so I need to see what my clearance is there once I bring the Expedition home.
I want to do rock sliders with steps instead of the running boards but no one seems to make them for the Expedition and I need to see how dimensions and mounting on an F150 is different. To see about modifying those or having to have something completely fabbed up.

This thing sure is going to beat the pants off the van!!!!

Nice! I was just shopping for a used F150 and saw a couple of new Expeditions at the dealers. One they had inside looked really sweet. If it's a nice riding and well equipped as my 2015 F150, I'm imagining you'll be very happy like I am. Quite honestly I'm floored that my F150 drives better than my Lexus GX470 did. The F150 also gets substantially better gas mileage with the ecoboost...about 40-50% better than I had been getting.

Maybe a bug shield on the nose of the hood. Guess I saw a 2018 last evening and a paper on its back glass read something like Plate on the way ? Northern Kentucky.

Hey, by chance did you end up checking out the Ford branded floor liners? The parts guy was telling me the ones for the F150 were about half the price of WeatherTech and were very similar. I haven't been in to look at them yet but was thinking about it.

Sharp Expedition. You're going to love silver in the summer. Doesn't show dirt like white and it's still cool.

I had not. But Ford only lists all weather mats and not floor liners.
https://accessories.ford.com/i...ntour-mat-10861.html
They are only mats it appears and do not cover the entire 2nd row floor, nor does it have an option for the 3rd row.

The Explorer I had before the Sienna was Silver and loved the color and how easy it was to keep clean.

The hood visor is still around and available. We have the clear film on my wife’s Highlander and my Explorer had the visor which I felt worked better. I need to see how the visor looks on the Expedition before I decide.
Looked just fine on the Explorer.

Yeah - be careful with that. The parking garage for my office has one of those hanging signs that warn about clearance height... I took note and measured my (stock) pickup multiple times and figured I had somewhere between 1/2 to 1" of clearance. Pulled into the gate and immediately had 4 cars behind me so I was committed. As I was going through the clearance lights on my pickup touched the sign (it was lower than the posted measurement). Eek I was pretty puckered up going up and down that ramp. Found another place to park after that.

I plan to actually stop get out and measure the clearance with the stock height not only with the dangly entry thing but with some of the cement cross beams as I go up.

That or do like the oversized load escort cars do and strap a pole to the top equating the height and waiting for the scraping sound.

I have a 2016 Expedition Limited EL 4WD as well. You are going to love this truck! Mine is laid out differently as the second row seats are also buckets like the front. I always have the third row seats down and a cargo mat in the back. Weather Techs are great I have them in mine and love them. Make sure you get the laser cut ones for a perfect fit.

Weather Tech didn't make a full cargo mat for it so I had to buy that from Husky mats which are also very nice.

Mine is fully loaded so I can't come up with anything I need to add. The automatic running boards are awesome. How long they will last I don't know. Thought I'd have trouble with them working in the winter months with snow and ice and below zero temps but they never missed once.

And as always there's a forum for that.

I seen them running boards on a Navigator a few times. Told my friend watch what happens when he opens the door. Pretty cool.

My 2012 platinum F150 has the power running boards. I love them and it is a must for all my trucks going forward. My parents can get in and out of my truck Easily, which was not the case in my old truck.
