Red Sox stars (minus Curt Schilling) from 2004 World Series team throw out Game 2 first pitch. The Boston Red Sox had several members of their 2004 curse-breaking championship team on hand at Fenway Park Wednesday night to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Game 2 of the World Series, and Curt Schilling was not among them.

I wonder why he was snubbed??

Well, it's obvious isn't it. He's wearing a Dodger blue shirt. Geesh.

Because he’s an asshole. He had some sweet TV gigs but he couldn’t keep his mouth shut regarding politics and subsequently bankrupted his family. But that’s not why I hate him. He kissed ass with the governor of Rhode Island and ended up costing the taxpayers approximately $100 million.

Fuck Curt Schilling and his bloody sock!!

Could be an asshole or not. But he certainly does not fit the narrative as most in professional sports. There is a reason most in the media do not like him.

It's being made out to be something it's not. Originally it was only supposed to be Ortiz, Pedro Martinez and Millar. These guys are all on MLB network and ESPN. A couple of other players piled on. Shilling was neither invited or asked to be there.

I bet his wife and kids care more about the $40/50 million he squandered than they do about 3 rings and some trophies.

PD sorry you have a hard on for him. I do not really care one way or another. If he gives the right people heartburn I am good with that though. I am guessing he has food on the table.

I worship him for what he did for the Red Sox in the WS. I like that he has conservative values. Other than that, yeah he seems like a jerk not willing to keep his mouth shut at the appropriate times. I also don't think that he actually swindled money out of the government either. I think he just thought he could be as good of a business man as he was a baseball player and instead failed miserably. Went from little experience to setting up a large company. The State of RI was culpable because they said "Oh Curt, what can we do for you" and failed to properly vet his business plan. Plenty of culpable people in that failure IMO.

Regarding the snub or not the snub? I think he was intentionally left out whether or not it was initially two people. So what. The owners can do what they want. They will take heat for this but again, so what. But the guy remains a baseball god to me. Doesn't mean I want to hang with him.

Just for a moment, let’s forget the taxpayers stuck with the $100 million bond. You have three rings, fame, and fortune. You actually do a good job sitting behind the baseball desk at ESPN making good money but your big mouth blows that gig. Now, you not only lose that but you shit the bed with 38 Studio and end up declaring personal bankruptcy losing somewhere between $40-$50 million in real money.

No doubt. The Speaker of the House should have been sharing his jail cell with a lot more people.

PD, your state gov. blows 100m at the drop of a hat regularly. So that is not the issue. While he has a big mouth. That is not unusual. Must be a yankee fan. Ahhhh, now we are getting somewhere. Wink

You’re right but a $100 mill here and a $100 mill there - soon we’re talking about real money.
