I know jack about watches aside from how to readnone. I know we have several watch enthusiasts here and I also know my cheap ass watch isn't really in collector territory, but I'm gonna ask anyway before I toss this thing.

Does anybody have a recommendation for a COMFORTABLE replacement band for a Casio G-100 (5158). I believe it's the cheapest analog G shock available. I hate the factory plastic strap and the nylon one I got from Amazon isn't much better because of the plastic adapters it requires. Looking for a nice silicone strap that doesn't cost more than the watch did. I bought one of those fit bit type fitness things to track my sleep pre C-pap and I like the silicone band it has. Hoping for something of similar comfort for this watch. I believe it's 16mm lugs, but am not positive.

Edit: I am on my second of this watch model. The last made it 8 years before the outer case/bezel was broken. Is there anywhere I can get a replacement case for this watch. The outer plastic housing with G-shock and all the buttons printed on it is what I'm after. Seems like 4 screws should allow me to change it out. Ebay was showing like $25 for them last time I found one.seemed stupid since the watch was only $50ish.

Honestly, G shocks with comfy straps, are a bit more expensive.

My "Papa*" watch is my GW-5000. Its fairly comfy.

*I've realized that as long as there are small children in the house, I will be wearing watches which cannot scratch them.

Thanks for the thread. A few watches to choose from and just put on my late brother's old G-2900. I recently replaced the rotted bezel and strap. It's a great watch with the seconds "sails" and minute wheel. I suppose there's always Timex.

Maybe an AliExpress/Temu "combi" bracelet would work? The real ones would cost more than your watch.

Here's an Amazon link to a genuine G-100 replacement. Is that what you're after? Or perhaps I misunderstood.

ETA: Eek! I just noticed that's blue. Almost certainly not what you were after.
Maybe this one is better?

God bless America.

^ Something that style, made out of a less uncomfortable material to wear on a daily basis. The factory strap is almost a hard plastic, like on a toy. The nylon zulu band is better, but feels nasty when it's wet, grimy or if I wear it for more than a couple hours at a time.

So far the closest I've found is a cheap Chinese knockoff from Lord Bezos. Figured I'd ask here before going the West Taiwan route.

This strap from a company called Davilane also seems intriguing since it looks a little more quality than my current nylon strap and doesn't appear to require the adapters my current strap does.

DONT TOSS IT!!!!!
Don't confuse "cheap" with "inexpensive"! Those G-Shocks are built like tanks, you can beat the hell out of it, change the battery every 3 years, and beat the hell out of it again.

What do you want for a band?
Nylon? Silicon? Rubber?
There's a ton to choose from.
16MM is the width you're looking for.

The NATO ones are comfortable!

My only issue with NATO bands is they stink after wearing them awhile and even a good scrubbing cant totally erase the smell.
Silicone has to be better.

I have a nato band now. I'm not pleased with it, but I think it is more to do with the adapters I'm required to use because of the case design.
This is my second of this model watch. I used the factory band until it broke on the first one, but it was never comfortable. I will try one of the silicone options, but I think I may have just gotten used to not wearing a watch in the 6 months or so my last one was broken.

Depending on which G Shock you have, there’s a business called Jays and Kay’s that makes adapters so you can use a lot of different style bands. I’ve used them on Casio Mudmaster watches with good results.

Yeah, that's what I've got currently, though mine are from Amazon. Figure they're likely made from some inferior plastic with less flex and that's causing my current issue.

I have a couple of the barton silicone bands inbound. I will post an opinion when I receive them.

I know its quite a bit more - but it is still a G shock - and you clearly like them.

The GW-5000s are much more comfortable.

I have one of the Ti 5600s, tried wearing it yesterday, it will be sold. Looks cool, but miserable to wear, relative to the GW-5000.

I settled for the above mentioned Davilane nylon and velcro band and a silicone band from Amazon. Both were significant improvements as they are significantly wider than my previous band and seem to fit more comfortably. I haven't worn either for a significant amount of time, so durability is still to be determined, but I'm happy with them for now.
