Had that in the opposite, took a nap in a chair and had dozens of dreams of waking up in the chair, getting up and doing various things. Each new time seemed like I'd really woke up. So when I got up I didn't trust it. I was literally pinching myself to see if I was awake. Though I'm pretty sure I was doing that in the dreams as well.

I'll dream a scene in everyday life, say sitting on a park bench and then see it play out exactly how I dreamed it weeks or months later.

science/math says its impossible, but for that brief moment living 3-4 seconds in the future is a lot of fun.

When my wife was a senior in high school, she dreamed she witnessed a car accident where a drunk driver ran a stop sign at a specific intersection. She saw her best friend die in the accident.

My wife's father received a phone call and came in her room and woke her to tell her that her friend had died. She told her father the details of the crash.

Years later, we were looking to buy a house. We pulled up in front of a house that looked promising. My wife told me she couldn't live there because she saw her best friend die at the intersection one house down the street.

Friends of co-workers will see me sort of bugging out and be puzzled, I tell them "I get really long deja vu', just what you're describing. It always worries me because I always think I remembered it because something bad happened.

Don’t mean to be the turd in the punch bowl but,,,, do yo have night sweats often? I would also have periods where I wasn’t totally asleep, kinda just under but not totally in dream land. I would wake up totally soaked thinking I’d sprung a leak. Big leak. But I didn’t.

Eventually I was diagnosed with Non Hogkins Lymphoma. It was diagnosed by colonoscopy. In my colon. No swollen lymph nodes, no bone marrow involvement. Only in my colon.

One of the first questions they asked me was about night sweats. Then about fatigue. I had both. Not trying to diagnose you. Just giving you a heads up. Tell your Doc if the night sweats continue.

Or maybe the blanket was too heavy, or the heater turned up.
But yeah....

The answer is no to the OP question. However, since retiring it seems like I spend most nights on call for cardiology...in a hospital I don't know...can't find the residents I'm supposed to round with...last night I was a locum tenens at at big teaching hospital, could not find my way around to the ward where we left the very sick patient. I think it was a VT-affiliated hospital, and for some reason the patient was being treated with Cavalierolol...everyone thought it a big joke. The patient was one of the staff doctors.

I was laying on my back asleep one time and I woke up but I was looking down at my still sleeping body. This dark shadow type figure started towards my body. I was screaming trying to wake my still sleeping body up but I wouldn’t wake up. As the shadow started to take over my body starting at my feet I woke up absolutely terrified. My wife said I was screaming God help me. It was around 2 am. I didn’t go back to sleep. I was terrified. About 6 am I got a phone call that my best friend had been killed in a car accident coming home from work around 2 am. Never happened before or since that night.

I was told this is called pre-cognition.

It happened to me numerous times when I was younger. Its just a normal dream until you have that funny feeling you been there before.

I wish it was numbers for a winning lottery ticket.

Only if I sleep with a blanket heavier than a sheet. But my wife keeps the house blazing since the baby can't sleep with a blanket yet.

Had a dream I was dancing with a completely nude woman with huge you know whats, while cracking a whip Indiana Jones style, in the middle of a club.

When I told my buddies about it, they let me know that it was in fact not a dream.

I'd call that an aspiration, not a dream.

No, but if ever I did have such a thing happen, it certainly wouldn't be due to any sort of supernatural reason. It would be due to circumstance and/or coincidence, and that is all.

No ghosts, no supernatural anything.

When I was a teenager and dating this girl I was crazy about, I had this recurring dream that we had broken up. I would awake from the dream and be so relieved that it was only a dream. Then after a few years, we did break up and eventually, I had the dream again only this time, when I awoke, it was true. I was devastated and credit that with the fact that all these years later, I rarely remember dreams upon awakening.

Bet most of us have woken up at some point in our lives , and found that the dream from last night was really a nightmare!
Usually induced by beer glasses or something similar! Razz

Thankfully, most people seem to grow out of this kind of fantasy as they mature.

Ummmm . . . so you don't think it was your sleeping brain trying to deal with the music that was playing and the fact that you were sweaty?

I fell asleep during a physics final exam review in my freshman year of college and dreamt that I was in the review.

I found it a little surreal. I'm willing to accept that this might actually have been a sleep paralysis (which I've bitched about a couple of times over the years in the WYD section) episode, but my memory places it as being a bit less "oh fuck I can't move" and more "huh, this is strange."

For those wondering, I got a B in the class.
