Former congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard announces she’s leaving the Dems
“Former congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard announced Tuesday morning she is leaving the Democratic Party in a series of tweets criticizing their 'cowardly wokeness' and accusing them of 'stoking anti-white racism'.

The ex-representative for Hawaii's 2nd district and United States Army Reserve officer accused the party of 'demonizing the police', 'protecting criminals', 'believing in open borders' and 'dragging us even closer to nuclear war'. …”

Good for her on leaving the America-hating Commie party.

Just read it on Fox. She's not joining the R party or another, at the moment. FWIW I thought she was the best the Dems had running for 2020, but....

Good for her. But now she's just another RINO.

Don't let the door hit ya... on the way in, apparently.

Well it's about time. She hasn't been a Democrat for awhile.

Do you actually know anything about Gabbard or her politics, or is it just a case of "she's not a died-in-the-wool right-wing conservative Republican so she's crap" kind of a thing?

For anybody who's actually interested in her politics and positions: I'd been following her on Twitter for the brief time I was on there again. She's been lambasting the left for months.

I have been following her on Truth and like a lot of what she says. Glad that she has seen the light. Also watched her do some firearm training on there.

I liked her in the 2020 primaries over the rest of the Democrat field (not that I would have voted for her, but she was the least objectionable option). She's no staunch 2A supporter, or even a conservative, but her approach to most things seemed to be at least based in reason as opposed to reckless dogmatic ideology.

I vehemently disagree with Biden's decision to pick a VP based on gender, but if he had to do it that way Gabbard would have been a clearly more intelligent and better-qualified choice than the one we ended up with. The fact that he picked Kamala over Gabbard demonstrates that the decision was all about politics and had nothing to do with merit.

I recall Tulsi torching Kumswalla in the debates, which was great, and severely damaging her campaign.

Unless she's changed her mind, she's pro abortion. That and her protosocialist reflexes will keep her from aligning with the Republicans. She'd still be a Dem if the party weren't collectively sliding off the plate. She and Bill Maher have been left without a country

Good for her but it doesn't really matter. She isn't running for anything and wouldn't get elected to anything on the national level. She is just starting her career as a political commentator, that's all.

OK, Tulsi. Now that you’ve announced that you are leaving the Dem Party, where are you going?

Are you going to join the Repubs; the Libertarians; are you going to to take a wait-and-see attitude; or are you going to just sit out of the political process altogether?

We don’t have a multi-party parliamentary government system like most of Europe, so it’s either the Repubs or nothing if you still want to have a voice in politics.

Good for her for leaving the D party. I'm not convinced she's fully "on our side" however.

This shows up in the comments on one of the articles:

I have been following her on Twitter for a few years now and kinda saw this coming. I know she pissed off the establishment during the debates and they have had nothing to do with her since.

It really boggles the mind how she was one of the candidates and was beaten out by Biden? I just do not understand the democratic party, she represents all that they could be and claim to stand for, why did she not have success? (asking rhetorically Smile

The quote on the right was from the presidential race. And is very conservative for a Dem. The pic and tweet on the left is from a few days ago. She has evolved over the last two years and become more and more vocal in her push for protecting personal freedom. I wonder if she has 'changed' from the party line quote of a few years ago.

Do you think she's going to continue in politics, certainly in today's polarized environment, as an independent? She's got to cozy up to one side of the other to get enough votes and she ain't no conservative.

Just because she lambasts the left doesn't make her a champion of the right.
