This afternoon I met a couple boat owning buddies for a beer by the harbor and the guy next to us is by himself so we ask if he’s on vacation because he’s that kind of pale so it seems like an appropriate ice breaker...
Well ... turns out he arrived yesterday with his then girlfriend. That’s right, “then” girlfriend. She dumped him on the way here. That’s got to be awful, you’d think, but no ...
She paid for the whole trip including first class airfare and lodging plus she let him have the place and got herself another. Did right by him at least.
If he expected sympathy he was in the wrong crowd in the wrong place so to his surprise we commenced fist bumping and high fiving him because, let’s face it, Ron now has the ultimate getting dumped story plus he already won a Hawaiian vacation.
He came around pretty quickly.

Couple of years ago we were on a guided tour of Ireland. First night we become introduced to a guy who is travelling with his fiancee 's parents. Except the day before she had bailed and called the whole thing off. Seems she met her "soul mate" in London on a business trip. (They were based in Colorado) Based on the actions of the parents they had chosen him in the "divorce". Story was she wanted all of them to come to London at the end of the tour to meet the soul mate. It was all a bit surreal.

I'm so glad I've been married so long. This crap is insane.
For the record, I married my M-60 gunner from the secure storage facility we were assigned to. No silly bullshit, just yes/no and get 'er done. In 1979.

I assume they flew there, so how did it go down? Did she dump him mid-flight? We need more details on the logistics. This message has been edited. Last edited by: bigwagon,

Years from now he's going to be at a bar listening to a bunch of drunk guys talk about girls emptying bank accounts, slashing tires, and cheating. He's going to say gather round boys, I've got a story to tell.

OK, well that is just bizarre because I know a woman who did the EXACT same thing about 15 years ago (not to me). And yes, they were on a trip to Hawaii.

Getting drunk on a plane is delightful until the plane hits turbulence while you're already trying to stay steady in a shoebox-sized bathroom.
We believe arming our fellow Americans – both physically and philosophically – helps them fulfill our Founding Fathers' intent with the Second Amendment: To serve as a check on state power.

That's not uncommon.
My ex-wife's sister cheated on her husband and ran off with her new "soul mate". Husband divorced her. Her parents chose the ex-husband, since their daughter was clearly in the wrong. They barely spoke to their daughter any more, and ex-husband came to all the holiday gatherings with the three kids.
Ought to see if he can bump the room to a suite on the current charge card, buy up cases of Champaign, dinners to the room, upgrade the flight home to first class, hire some strippers and have a party at the hotel!

No.
He should be able to find a rattlesnake to sit between them.

His emotional baggage was delivered at the luggage carousel if you can believe it. I don’t think scriptwriters could come up with a funnier bad day in paradise if they tried. Hopefully Ron returns tonight. We want to buy him dinner.
Update - My buddies found him first and took him elsewhere. We met up briefly and Ron was a happy camper. His return flight is still good and if he finds himself next to her hopefully he’ll thank her and tell her he had a great time, which won’t be a lie. This message has been edited.
