To be fair, vehicles with combustion engines also... uh... combust from time to time as well.

But those need both a fuel leak and an ignition source. Without both they can't catch fire. A battery failure originates from within. But that's just nitpicking. The real point is that electric cars, while they have their uses and advantages, aren't the environmental panacea the watermelons think they are.

That was pretty spectacular. The bigger the battery the bigger the fire. I think a UPS plane was brought down out of the sky by a battery fire. Iirc it was a laptop battery in the cargo hold. More than one cargo plane has burned on the ground due to battery fires as well.

I have used this basic battery technology for at least 25 years and have seen batteries that Eileen fit in your pocket cause a wicked fire. I did a little searching because that would scare the crap out of me charging at home. I was a bit surprised how often ICE cars catch on fire.

If I were a submariner, that sight would scare the crap out of me. Imagine a fire like that in a pressurized hull.

My first thought was where are the passengers? Seems the bus must have been 'smoldering' for a while... it sure took too long fort the bus behind it and who ever was driving it to decide to get the heck out of there and my other thought was, where is the fire department? I did not even hear any sirens on the way...

Oh and one other thing.. . why the captions in the video... all they do is tell you exactly what you see?

Cool.
A mobile, multi-unit crematorium.

If that would have had passengers on it...
I wouldn't want to see that video.
