PASigQuestion About Sink Faucet Cartridges
I have a separate hot and cold faucet set up at the vanity in my master bath, Delta I think? The faucet has been dripping lately and I am not sure on what to so as I have never dealt with this new stuff, all the previous stuff was 1950's tech with washers.
Faucet is about 5 years old and our water is pretty hard. Can I remove the cartridges and soak in white vinegar or do they need replacing? 5 years seems like too new for that?

BlackTalonJHPIf you know the make and model you can usually get a free cartridge from the manufacturer. If the cartridge is in good shape you could probably just clean and put new o-rings and grease on it. Kits available at Home Depot, etc.

I was unable to remove the Delta cartridges from my faucets as they had nylon plastic nut heads. They were so frozen from deposits that the head just stripped off even after trying to soak in vinegar. I had to replace the faucets. I suggest you try to remove a cartridge before you obtain a replacement.

rexlesMOST Delta two handle faucets still use a spring and rubber seat set up.
Shut off water under sink. Remove handles. Unscrew the nut holding the cartridge. remove cartridge by pulling up. Pay attention to stem orentation. They generally have a notch.
You will see a black rubber seat. it has a spring under it. these come as a kit. make sure to install spring correctly with small end up.
Clean calcium deposits off stem seat with steel wool or green scrubby thing.
Re-install..
Most of the time you will see a cut in the rubber seat from the calcium deposit on the stem, that's what causes the leak.

V-TailDelta has lifetime warranty. Customer support will send required repair parts at no cost.
I have had my kitchen sink faucet with sprayer and soap dispenser for twenty years, maybe longer. Delta has sent any repair parts that I have needed.

architectI recently went through a kitchen faucet replacement due to a non-stop dripper.
1) If you bought the "Delta" on Amazon or a big box store, it may be counterfeit. If it does not have the word "Delta" in a prominent place on the exterior it is fake.
2) Delta knows this
3) Delta "customer service" is rude and offensive, they will treat you as if you were the counterfeiter, and require a picture of the Delta engraved on the faucet, and the original receipt.
4) The Delta website will not be helpful for locating the right cartridge
5) Delta prefers and supports their network of approved professionals and do not want home owner's replacing a cartridge.
6) a new faucet can be had for less than a Delta cartridge ($200+)
I bought
this one and it went in very easily, and has worked well for the month we've had it.
