If Jeff has the money (shockingly enough, he does!) and it's done right, who cares?

It only works if you care about your image. I don't think Bezos does.

So what if it bothers Europeans that Americans don’t care about their feelings.

I know that annoys them greatly but it’s what makes America great. After saving their butts in two world wars plus, I think we’ve earned the right.

I'd assumed that's what they're actually going to do, as opposed to removing the entire bridge.

This reminds me of a much younger me. Many moons ago I finished part of my basement. I finished framing, drywalled, hung the doors and moldings, painted and cleaned up. The day before the carpet guys came I went down to move a couch I had stored in one of the bedrooms. No go. Wouldn’t fit through the finished door jamb. Had to take the whole door system back out. I muttered bad words.

Not sure if it's hilarious or ironic, but the same people objecting to the bridge removal, would likely object to building it if it wasn't there.

Not likely the bridge is historic and 95 years old.
Guys like Bezos think money buys everything. It sure didn't buy him a successful marriage or likeability.

Shouldn't the locals go after the shipyard and government for signing off on this before the contract was finalized?

Probably not a great time for Bezos & friends to raise the rate on Amazon prime. The optics kinda suck when your Yacht is so big it’s requiring a bridge to be disassembled and then boom rate increase but I suppose it was going to happen anyway. Big Grin

Well done Bezos you magnificent troll. Cool

Then again we are probably only reading this story because of the rate hike ruffling feathers of those in the “media” who don’t like things getting more expensive. Kinda ironic the more you think of that.
