Sometimes family and friends will include me in a group chat/text session (iphone Message app). Often times I don't care for the conversation. I don't want to block friends and family from contacting me. But I just don't want to see / participate in many of these chats. I don't want to just turn off notifications (which doesn't seem to really work). I want to completely leave the chat so that I don't even see the conservation. Is there a way? iphone 6 w/ latest iOS. Can't you simply mute the conversation so you don't receive notifications just from that group? ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209430 In the Messages app, you can leave a group text at any time, as long as there are three other people on the thread. Here's how: Go to the group text that you want to leave. Tap the top of the conversation. Tap info icon, then tap Leave this Conversation. To leave a group text, all participants need to be using iMessage. If you don't see the option to leave, it might mean one or more of the users isn't using a device with iMessage. You can't remove yourself from these group texts, but you can mute the conversation. “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” - John Adams

i tried that. And it doesn't seem to always work. Or at least notifications still back for some reason. Also, they sometimes includes pictures and videos and shit (which I generally don't care to see). I only have 16GB model and it's already pretty full. If possible, I'd prefer to just remove the conversation from my phone. "Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it." Thanks Bama. I didn't see the Leave option so I guess somebody is not using iphone..... I mute and even delete the thread. But the thread just re-appears when someone responds. And not sure Mute is persistent. "Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it." L.Tolstoy "A government is just a body of people, usually, notably, ungoverned." If one of the people is not on an iPhone, they are sending the text via your carrier, so the only way to escape that would be to block them. It sucks to be pulled into conversations like that. “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” - John Adams

I go ballistic when people put me I a group chat. Like apeshit nuts. My neighbor rarely talks to me anymore after I went off on him. Haven’t been added to a group chat since. Loving it. Good luck. Sometimes, you gotta roll the hard six
