CS Lewis wrote about it, far more eloquently, but most/maybe all Christians go through an initial euphoria, when they finally accept Christ, then a round of Satan beating on them, then learning to fight back/general awareness of the war/usually facing how truly awful they have been to God and their fellow man.

Kirk was a casualty, but so are hundreds of thousands in Nigeria, every crack baby, aborted fetus, etc etc etc.

I think, maybe, it was the agnostics/atheists were shocked.

Maybe I’m very wrong on this.

Maybe they didn’t see the socialists as satanic? (Every political
Movement/nation etc is some mix of Satanic and Divine. The socialists are just almost completely satanic - pretty much the epitome of “the road to hell is paved with good intentions.)

I wouldn't use your comparisons, but yeah, the assassination of Charlie Kirk has definitely brought people to Christ. Whether it shocked them is subjective to individuals. For me, it angered me and Jesus told me to remain calm.
There has always been good and evil in the world. For some, the assassination of Charlie Kirk broke through the lollipops and rainbows facade that life is like social media.

Many of us know about the culture war that has been going on for years.

As long as I remember there has been a pendulum of the politics in this country.

At many points in our history some event either internal or external change the direction of the pendulum.

I think that Kirk's murder has force the pendulum to change the direction, it has reached zenith to the left and is coming back towards the right.

Trump is changing the way the world work for as long as I can remember.

I became a Christian in my late teens ~late 69/early 70. I was still pretty dumb overall. About everything.

I'm an old man now and much more aware of the spiritual warfare throughout the world. Especially in the USA.

A couple of passages come immediately to mind.

Eph 6:12: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

And, 1 Peter 5:8: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

It's gotten a lot worse in my lifetime. It could mean the end is coming. The end of the USA. The end of the world. The end of my life.

Regardless, we all want to live in such a way as to be ready for whatever end is on the horizon.

2 Tim 4:6-8: For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

I'm not doing the best that I can. But I'm doing the best I know how to do.

After 45 years of marriage my wife started going to church services as a direct result of the Charlie Kirk assassination.
Now I'm having Sunday morning breakfast at my favorite restaurant by myself which I find equally enjoyable. This is not to say I don't enjoy her company which I very much do. We discussed many things over Sunday morning breakfast for years. I respect her choice to do what she feels she needs.

As I have gotten older I have learned to live with change and transition smoothly.

I am hoping, that Jesus's return is soon, as it seems we are having more and more issues in this world but I don't think Kirk had that much to do with it. There were more/larger issues prior like the World Trade Center destruction, the Oklahoma bombing,etc., let alone the wars that have been fought. It was sad to see him shot and was hoping we would have more love shown to one another prior to anything like that happening but satan is alive and well and deceiving as many as he can.

I do hope and pray more people come to Christ before He does return. It is the greatest gift we can have and a hope that rivals no other.

As an atheist, I don't see the socialists (or progressives or communists) as satanic. But I do see them as malevolent. They need to be stopped or they will bring deep misery to billions of people.

Bible sales have improved exponentially.
