Which model Bosch do you have, and are you happy with it. What about repairs, hard to get parts?

Are there better options besides Bosch?

I don't know the model but my Bosch has been in since 2003 and wifey loves it. Quiet!
Only parts I have ever had to change is the soap dispenser door a couple yrs ago. Easy to get parts online.
My GE lasted 4yrs (previous model)

I forgot which model we have (mid-level - wasn't the cheapest but wasn't most expensive either).

Very happy with the dishwasher. Quiet and troublefree for 10 years. GE before that lasted only 3-4 years (and was noisy, not great, etc).

No idea about repairs and parts - issue free since installed.

Would definitely buy again.

Don't forget to clean the trap.

Knew a couple that had a perfectly good one replaced because it wasn't getting stuff clean... .They forgot about the trap education they were given at installation & disreputable installer/company took them for a new one.

I've got one, 5 years never an issue. I installed one at my parents 3 yrs. no problems. I think they are pretty reliable. But just be aware that the quiet comes at a cost as to make it so they have unusual amounts of sound insulation which makes for a slightly smaller interior since the exterior dimensions are standard.

Do it!
Whichever fits your needs and budget.

Ours is 7 or so years old now not a lick of issue. Don’t remember the model We paid like $500 when Best Buy was brining the next models out. Normally $799 I think.
So quiet some times I am not sure it is on. Only time you hear anything is when the water is being pumped out and the sound comes from the sink drain.

The only downfall if you can call it that is since there is no heater coil in the bottom having Jet Dry in it is imperative or it does not dry well.

The house I live in came with a top of the line (not Bosch) dishwasher. It was nothing but trouble.

After having it repaired many times under our home warranty, I replaced it two years ago with a like-new used Bosch I found For $125 in the local classifieds. It was a bottom of the line model a home seller installed, and the new home owner wanted to upgrade. I like it. The racks are simple, but functional. It has a fine particle filter which is simple to remove and clean.

In my experience, complicated racks tend to have lots of clips which break. When you reach the point where the manufacturer no longer makes the clips, you need to buy a new dishwasher. If you do buy a dishwasher with complicated racks, take lots of photos of the clips from all angles while the dishwasher is new. A number of repair guys had difficulty orienting the replacement clips, even with the service manual/diagrams.

The more expensive Bosch models do have a bit more insulation in the door and the controls on the top. My experience with my last dishwasher was top controls led to issues down the road with water infiltration to the circuit boards. This may not be true with all designs. I'm not going to buy another top control model if I can help it. YMMV.

We love ours, too.

It's so quiet, it shines a little red light on the floor to let you know that it is running... Smile

Mines probably 10yrs old now and works great. As others mentioned, when I first installed it and started it, I didn't even think it was working until I put my ear against the door it was so quiet.

I bought a bosch from the recommendations on the forum. It would stink inside if dishes sat for more than two days. I have a Samsung in the new house and have no issues. I would not buy bosch again.

I’ve been very pleased with the one i bought back in 2009. I would by another without reservation. No problems or repairs yet. Very quiet. That’s the best thing. It’s like a gentle rain on your roof.

When I was an expat living in Canada, the townhouse that I rented had a Bosch. I do not know the model, but I was not impressed. The Kenmore in my Anchorage house and the GE in my current house clean/cleaned better.

Short answer--yes.

I put in a GE about 2.5-3 years ago. Hated it. It died about 6 months ago and I replaced it with a Bosch. Love it. My parents have one they bought about 2 years ago and they love theirs. The are quite, work well, and dry well. I highly recommend one with the 3rd (silverware) rack. Really efficient use of space.

We have had one for a year now. Super quiet. Only complaint is it really doesn't dry the dishes well. Has been 100% reliable but a year is fairly short period of time. I would buy it again. It cleans the dirtiest of dishes without a problem. It has a top silverware drawer and standard lower silverware holders. The top one is great for knifes and wooden spoons and utincles that I normally wo u old hand wash.

Have had one for 3 years with good results. It is the Silence Plus 50 dba, which was maybe middle of the road a few years ago? They aren't named the same anymore so I don't know what it is analagous to.

It doesn't dry very well but I think we have it set on some efficiency setting that doesn't dry the dishes as well.

They stink, literally. No real heat cycle to dry, so they can start to smell after a while.
