I can't think of a better place to ask this question... I want to caulk the gap between the sidewalk that butts against the brick of my house in the gangway. What's the best stuff to use? I tried researching on the Internet. Sikaflex products kept popping up. Year V

You can use silicone caulk for in between concrete and brick. Just go to Lowe’s and find a grey color close to the sidewalk. I did it to my kids house, for the same reasons. I believe the GE brand was a better buy than the DAP brand. Silicone or urethane will do. They also make a self leveling...think soupy caulk that is squished in the crack and it basically runs level by itself... in building materials by the concrete there are a number of products which are designed for exactly what your wanting to do fill wider gaps, self leveling, easy to apply. Quick Crete, DAP, Sika all make a version. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Live today as if it may be your last and learn today as if you will live forever

Silkaflex is great stuff....I have used it on concrete, and in a gap between concrete and cedar shingles. It expands and contracts with the weather. ...You, higher mammal. Can you read? ....There's nothing sexier than a well worn, functional Sig!

Keystoner, a polyurethane backer rod a little wider than the joint can be used to limit the amount of sealant needed. A preformed fiberboard expansion joint filler is often used in new construction to create the gap and serve the function of the backer rod but it isn’t quite as effective due to the lesser amount of adhesion on the sides to the concrete and brick. The top of whichever is used should be set so the depth of sealant at the center of the joint is roughly half of the width of the joint. This allows the joint to flex with changes in temperature or moisture. In my experience, Sika products are good to go. *** "Aut viam inveniam aut faciam (I will either find a way or make one)." -- Hannibal Barca

West System Six10, is the perfect material to use. It's a 2 part epoxy that self mixes in the caulking gun. https://www.westsystem.com/spe...ened-epoxy-adhesive/ Sikaflex makes a good product too...….There's also crack filler that you melt with a torch, generally used between sidewalk sections.....This message has been edited.
