I recently purchased my first safe and would like to add interior lighting. I don’t need it badly enough to justify adding an outlet and drilling out a hole to run power into the safe so I’m looking at battery powered options. Given the efficiency of led lighting I don’t think it’s a big sacrifice. Any suggestions?

A lot of safes come predrilled to provide electricity for installation of a Goldenrod gun safe dehumidifier. That would be an easy way to get power inside you could tap for light. Not an option on yours?

Fighting the good fight |
I got on Amazon and bought a set of no-name square LED lights with motion sensors that run off AA batteries. I then affixed the hook side of adhesive-backed velcro strips to them, and used that to attach them to the felt lining in my safes. Now, when I open the door, the LED lights kick on, and the safe is lit up. The AA batteries last a year or so.

Installed stick-up disk lights 1st safe, work ok, installed a string of tube lights in my 2nd safe. Open door plug them in and OMG way better then any battery light. I will get around to installing a power supply inside one of these days!!!

i recommend check for the pre drilled hole in the lower back portion of the safe- it can be located on the OUTSIDE. Typically, safes are lined with Sheetrock.

I Deal In Lead |
I've been using Lite Tech LED battery powered lighting with a motion sensor that turns the lights on when you open the safe for a number of years and love it. https://www.maxmysafe.com/Prod...DSAFE%2DLIGHT%2DSYST
