My condolences. There came a time in my life when I realized that my entire family of origin - parents, aunts, uncles - were all gone. It became my turn to be family of origin to my kids and grandkids. Be well, and take up the mantle.

@Johnny 3eagles, that's one of my favorite images!

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

Feb 29th was 8 years since we lost my dad. My mom has been so lonely since that day. It hasn’t gotten any easier for me either. Screen is getting blurry just thinking about it. Sorry for your loss. Happy they’re no longer apart. Stay strong bud, I know it’s hard to do. Frown

I'm so sorry about your Dad. You and the rest of your family are in my prayers.
I read the link and found another. He was the kind of man we really need and he did great work.

Thank you all. This has been a community he held close

To the day he retired, if he earned something as Enlisted, he wore the Silver, never transitioned to the “Commissioned gold” version. He told me a story about an O-7 who said you can wear the gold ones. His reply was, “I didn’t earn them as such”

Thank You Charlie12. That was an article I not seen
