DOE, HUD, Bureau of Land Management, Homeland Security, ATF, reorganize the DOD...too many subagencies have redundant/overlapping missions. That's just off the top of my head.

tatortoddSet up new streamlined non-union agenices and subagencies (only those required by the Constitution), close all existing agencies on a named date, and prior to that date let the gov't employees apply to the new non-union agency.

"....no matter how efficient." That's quite a concept isn't it?
In real life, I think we would not like a government that was efficient. We depend on incompetence, inefficiency, waste, corruption within bounds, to make life a bit more tolerable. Hard to cheat otherwise!

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown April 15, 2017, 02:35 PM

Might be easier to ID the ones we need, like DOD, Treasury, nuclear part of DOE, DOJ, Interior, State, VA, PTO, OMB, CIA, CDC, NIH, FAA, Customs and Border, ICE, etc.

I'd like to make it FAR more difficult, as in impossible. Law making is supposed to reside with the legislative branch, not the executive. Giving law making authority to the executive is a gross bastardization of our Constitutional form of governance.

Either completely liquidate it totally or gut it from the top down and start over.
