Verizon is offering a second line on the iPhone for $10 a month. It would be worth it to me to escape from spam calls and texts. For those who have this: did you make the NEW line one for family and friends only and known business acquaintances? It will obviously mean sending out messages and e-mails to my contacts with a new number, and some will ignore the messages and e-mails. I can still set up phone calls only for contacts, I guess. Has this option been useful for you? _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

Only ten bucks / month for the opportunity to receive twice as many spam calls? Sounds like a bargain, to me. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

Thank you Very little |
I am interested as well, you need an iPhone with the capability to run a virtual sim to have two lines, believe you need a 13 and above phone. Thinking of moving my office line from ATT Fiber to my phone, at $10 it's a no brainer.. Do you have a link to the program? Tmobile wants $45 a month for the second line

I just use a second cell phone. I ditched my land line and now use phone number two as my deadbeat line. I never answer it and just check it for messages from time to time. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

My daughter has that to connect with her iPhone. She uses it for her Smartwatch so she doesn't have to carry her phone when she's out running/exercising. It is mostly so she won't miss important calls/messages. She isn't giving the number to anyone and will only make calls on watch during emergencies. When she first set it up, to transfer calls from her iPhone, she called me and her iPhone number appeared on my phone No, Daoism isn't a religion

My e-mail, phone, and messages are barraged daily with political spam because in 2016 I donated to Ted Cruz; and subsequently to some congressional candidates through WinRed. I refuse to use WinRed now. But the spam keeps coming. I can set up rules for e-mails; already use an email address for businesses and another for politics. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

I have a personal cell and a business cell so I don't really want another "real" number. All you need to do is install the Google Voice app and you can have a free phone number for free, and you can change it too if starts getting spam. I use mine as a throwaway. I have not gotten any spam on it yet.

I wouldn’t pay 10¢ for a second line. But if you have one you might consider buying an Apple Watch with cellular capability. Serious about crackers

I hate Google with a passion; don’t trust it at all so won’t use Google Voice. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

My old number got on too many lists, and is now with NumberBarn. It’s a $6 bucks a month, and it can send and receive texts. I have a menu option on it, so that at least a real person has to be on the line. I suppose AI will soon render that useless, at which point I will figure something out. I have a work cell and a private cell - I also use google voice for a throw away. You really have to have a throw away number to give out to all the various people who try to accumulate your number - get one of those providers which charge by the text - actually not a bad idea. My primary number is only for my wife, immediate family/very close friends and 3 direct reports at work. No one else ever gets that. number.

My only concern would be whose old number are you getting? I knew a guy who changed his number because of all his debt collector calls. His new number was constantly called by debit collectors looking for another guy.

I don't think a "second" line will do anything other than double your spam. Spammers aren't sitting a basement dialing on a rotatory from a published phone list. Computer systems are shooting them out to every single possible combination of numbers in hopes of hits. In many cases with shared/purchased databases of good numbers. Adding on a second or 10 more numbers won't affect the efforts to ping those new numbers at random. And, BTW, this is also the reason engaging with these inbound items is counterproductive since now you've been identified as a live number. You only have integrity once. - imprezaguy02
