It's open season on goodness, holiness and innocence. Be vigilant and have a plan, should any member of an evil faction or just plain crazy person seek to destroy us. Coordinate (formally or informally, depending on your organizations liability stance) with other like-minded and able-bodied members to protect your group or congregation during times of worship.

I’m a member of an armed security team at our church. Thanks for the words of encouragement.

We had this very discussion at our last mens business meeting. Sutherland Springs is less than an hour from where we worship. If that shooting had happened at our church, it would effectively wipe it out.
I carry, a couple of others do, but we really hadn’t discussed it before the meeting.
In the Tx penal code and CCP, these two items are good to know.
From the Disorderly Conduct statutes-
Sec. 42.05- Disrupting Meeting or Procession
Class B- misdemeanor, an arrest situation as opposed to a citation. A good catch all to remove people who need to be.

From the Code of Criminal Procedure-
Art. 14.01- a P.O. or any person may arrest for an offense within view classified as Felony or offense against the public peace. 42.05 is an offense against public peace. Anybody in your congregation can go hands on.

Tx Senate Bill 694- took effect on 9/01/23.
Covers/provides immunity from civil liability arising from acts while providing security for a religious org.

I just went to my first meeting as an Elder at my church. Locking the doors and monitoring the cameras was one of the things we talked about. I got some clarity on our CW policy as well. We’re about as prepared as we can be.

I am on a security detail at my church. We have three man teams; one man outside eyeballing every single person that walks in, one person in the lobby area, and one person inside the sanctuary. All of us are trained on pepper spray, and those who have carry permits are armed.

Anyone or anything that looks even slightly out of place gets attention.

I’m here tell you, there is coming a time when regardless of denomination, righteousness people everywhere will need each other to survive the persecution evil has prepared for them. Baptists will need Catholics, Lutherans, Jehovah’s Witness, Methodists, Mennonites, Amish, Mormons, Branch Dividians, moral agnostics, etc. and they will need each other. We’d better learn to tolerate our subtle differences because something evil this way comes.

I am not a Christian nor do I subscribe to any organized spirituality but I do believe you're right to take precautions.

Been on alert since Saturday, Benny. Whenever something like that kicks off, synagogues are placed on high alert. If those are locked down, a church or community center will do in the minds of those who want kill/harm innocents. Sunday, I noted that one active and one retired LEO were not in services, but one guy I knows who carries a real knife, and I with a 9mm were.

I was recently in Dearborn MI. While gazing out my hotel window on a Sunday morning I noticed a small drone hovering around a nearby church. It moved a few times and it stayed quite high up.I assumed it was security monitoring the grounds and parking.

I grew up knowing this as "The time of trouble"
