I've got a thread running here about rice cookers. Someone mentioned Uncle Roger in that thread about cooking rice.

Uncle Roger is hilarious, I've enjoyed watching his videos for a few years now.

Kent Rollins is the Oklahoma Cowboy Cook, chuck wagon style. Kent lives in Hollis OK, about 30 miles from where I was born and raised, I've still got family there. I've never met Kent Rollins but some of my relatives know him. They all say the same thing, he's a hoot.

The scene where they are at Super Cao Nguyen in OKC, I've been in there a lot. I'll probably buy my rice there when I get my new rice cooker.
(OKC has a large Asian community).

Anyway, here is Uncle Roger visiting Kent Rollins at Hollis OK and making this video a few weeks ago. There is an earlier Uncle Roger video where he is making fun of Kent Rollins (nothing mean). The contrast and similarities of these 2 is great. Enjoy, laugh and giggle.

One of my cooking friends has apparently been a nephew of Uncle Roger for some time, and was surprised I just stumbled across him a month ago.

Most of his bits are pretty amusing, in moderation for me. His reactions to some of the cooking shows are pretty close to my own!

HAIYAAAAAA!!

Saw this the other day. It’s very clean and G rated. The version that uncle Roger put on his channel is a bit more PG13 edging towards R

Been watching a lot of Asian cooking youtube vids and I have decided and let some people know I want a wok for Christmas and I will probably just buy one myself.

Never seen this combo before of "chefs".
Been seeing a lot of cross-guesting videos of one YouTuber on someone else's show.
Nothing wrong with that, just a promotion of one or another.
FYI, Uncle Roger doesn't really talk like that.
I think he may also be a standup comedian too, not sure.
He really goes to town about Jamie Oliver making fried rice. Big Grin
Anyway it's all good. Cool

Nigel Ng is his real name, Uncle Roger was one of his acts as a touring comedian. Born and raised in Malaysia, went to school at Northwestern now lives in London, did comedy on the side while in school and developed a knack for it. His Uncle Roger bit really took-off a few years ago, as the character would comment on non-Asian cooks attempting to cook Asian dishes particularly egg fried-rice, Jamie Oliver being one of his main targets with that abomination of a recipe. Gordon Ramsey also got skewered but was game enough to recognize that rather than react negatively to Uncle Roger, he used the power of social media/vlogs and did some colab videos with Ng. Good to see Cowboy Kent jump-in, always fun to see a cross-genre show.

There are some who detest Ng/Uncle Roger, believing his act simply perpetuates stereotypes. I know where they're coming from but, they're also wound-up too tight.

Uncle Roger is awesome, and the colab is even better. Great team up and I'm sure it made a little boost on both channels and will add to viewership.

Kent Rollins has to be one of the most wholesome individuals to watch.

That was great. I knew about Kent after looking up some Dutch oven cooking videos. I shop at Super Cao Nguyen grocery myself occasionally.

Been a fan of Rollins for years, and have just discovered Uncle Roger earlier this year. I have a couple of Rollin's cookbooks and his wooden spatula (great tool) and use his original seasoning almost everyday.

Been a fan of Kent Rollins for years. I actually learned of him here on the forum. I have two of his cookbooks and bought one for my sister. Love his YouTube channel. And I’ll echo the above post regarding him being a wholesome person. I don’t believe I have ever seen a video where he didn’t end without tipping his hat to Old Glory and the men and women in the military who defend this country.

I remember someone posting on here a video of Uncle Roger talking about Rachel Ray cooking Asian or Mexican food and it was absolutely awful yet the audience thought it was so great. It looked absolutely disgusting and the ingredients used weren't ingredients used by natives in those dishes.

Kent Rollins is awesome. I have been a subscriber of his for many years, found his channel when I was looking at ways of cleaning cast iron. I have even bought his Red River Ranch seasoning, it's pretty good on chicken.

I like both CKR and UR. UR can be sharp in his comments but he can balance that in later vids. By example, he visited a chili jam factory after savaging the Jamie Oliver fried rice farce. The factory visit was pretty respectful.
