The Academy Awards
The Oscars has always been about the Hollywood set jerking off to a photo of themselves, hoping everyone watches.

But now, it is all about weak-knee, pussy-footed, moronic assholes slapping themselves on the back, completely oblivious to those who actually buy the tickets and support their livelihoods. I used to think professional athletes were stupid, but Hollywood actors take the cake.

I thought so highly of the Oscars this evening I finished waxing my wife's car (washed it late this afternoon) and then rebuilt a leaky toilet. Somehow I think I enjoyed both tasks more than I would have enjoyed watching what others here have described as the highlights of that circle jerk.

Unbelievable. Strange thing is I swear Batty opened the envelope. They must have had two best actress envelope? Dunnawy didn't look too steady coming out either. How did they get given the wrong envelope?

I watched Gangs of New York tonight. Hadn't seen it in quite awhile and had recorded it a week or two ago when we had free movie channels. Amazing performance by Day-Lewis and good performances by others.

As the saying goes, "based on true events." Helluva time in American history.
