While we are talking around domestic violence, I remember a newspaper article in the local press from a while back. It would appear that a newly-wed couple were having an 'altercation' in their backyard about where to plant some kind of plants, using string and pegs, watched by the neighbour, who was giving evidence later on.
The man, in sheer exasperation, smacked the gal around the face. Seemed she looked right back at him, and then panned him around the head with the tent-peg mallet she was using to drive the plant posts in.
He collapsed in a heap, whereupon she kicked the ever-livin' shi*t out of him, shouting 'don't you EVER lay a hand on me again, you piece of sh*t!!!'
Apparently it was worth watching. The gal even called 999 [UK's 911] for an ambulance.

Therein lies the rub of the whole crazy mindset. Blaming the object for the crime. Guns, knives, bottles, tent pegs (although that one gave me a chuckle since the guy hit a woman first).
Maybe we should be putting these items on trial instead of the people wielding them.

It's amazing what Jason Statham can do with a fork and spoon....the scene in 'Wild card' is just amazing.
