I've been shaving my head for about 30 years, I think. I looked in the mirror one day and said, "Oh my God, I'm doing a comb over" (kind of like PASig's reaction!), and went to a #2 blade. Then after a couple of years, I just decided it would be easier to shave close. I use an electric, same one I use for my face. I tried rotary heads and foil heads, and foil shave closer. I'm currently using a Panasonic Arc 4 (which they don't make any more), but it does take a while. I may try the Pitbull if the advertised shave time is actually 2 minutes. Thus the metric system did not really catch on in the States, unless you count the increasing popularity of the nine-millimeter bullet. - Dave Barry "Never go through life saying 'I should have'..." - quote from the 9/11 Boatlift Story (thanks, sdy for posting it)

I regretted not doing it sooner. I kept getting it cut shorter and shorter as it looked thicker that way. Then I told my salon lady to just trim it down w/ the shortest guard. She got a big smile and said, "Really?" Then she told me where to get a good quality trimmer so I could do it myself. Advice that meant she would never see me again. Several months later, I forgot to put the guard back on and went right up the top of my head, front to back. I thought it felt a bit different and realized my mistake. I eventually figured I may as well take a blade to it and I haven't gone back. I've enough DE blades and shaving soaps/creams to last me the rest of my life. At some point I may have to switch back to a multi-blade disposable as I age.

Why not? Some tough love here, but let's be real... You know you're not fooling anyone by clinging to the remnants of your hair. And unless you're that one in a million who has just a completely ridiculously shaped head, I guarantee you will look much better (and noticeably younger!) with a shaved head than with balding/receding/patchy hair. So just do it.

Another happy Pit Bull user. It’s very ergonomic. I do find it to work best wet with a little shaving gel. I sometimes still use the multi-blade razor I use on my neck (have a beard) but the Pit Bull does a better job on the contours on the back of my head (I’m completely bald).

Been shaving my head since I left high school. 35 years? I have not found anything that can come close to using a typical razor. I bought one where I can change the razor (cartridge), not those cheap throw aways as they have taken enough of my skin. When my hair starts to grow out after a fresh shave (usually about 1.5 days after) my skin gets itchy and I have to do it all over again. That's why none of those shavers work for me. I need it Mr. Clean slick!

Ditto. I have had one for about two years now and it is not "blade close" but does a clean job. Easy to clean and swap out the 4-blade shaver head. I am on my second replacement head. Wet/dry and rechargeable with a % gauge to let you know where you are with a charge.

I have found the older Norelco shavers gave an almost blade close shave when used with regular bar soap in the shower. The newer cheaper models do not do as well. When I started shaving my almost bald head I still use the older Norelco but too lazy to spend the extra time in the shower. Based on previous comments I ordered from Amazon the Pit Bull & the Norelco Head Shaver with extra blade. The Pit Bull came with a USB plug adapter and is smaller than the Norelco. I tried both this morning using the Pit Bull on one side only then coming back and using the Norelco. I did this on both sides with a dry head so I could return the shaver I did not like as well. The Norelco shaved closer & felt better than the PItt Bull so I am returning the PIt Bull. Also the Pit Bull instructions said "do not use under direct shower spray for longer than 5 minutes". Both head shavers are much faster than using the face shaver. I will try the Norelco in the shower tomorrow. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FH..._fed_asin_title&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DS..._fed_asin_title&th=1 __________________________________________________ If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit! I got a Remington Balder Pro and it doesn't shave as close as a safety razor and good shaving cream. Plus, it gave me really bad razor burn on the back of my head at the neck (with or without soap or shaving cream). Back to the normal razor. I tried this because I have a gnarly scar to deal with and was hoping it was easier. Nope.

I meant to link to this in my earlier post, but forgot: Shavercheck This is one of the best shaver review websites I have seen. Thorough, unbiased, fair. Above link is to the headshaver specific section. I've still got hair, but my forehead is getting bigger. I hate getting my hair cut...it's on par with going to the dentist. I have my wife do it at home so it wastes less time and costs nothing, but it's still annoying. Ever since I turned 40 the algorithm seems to think that I need to be subjected to every hair re-growth commercial ever produced. It's constant...every youtube and podcast commercial break. Why I don't get is why don't they focus on developing a product that just removes it all permanently so I don't have to worry about cutting/shaving it? ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.

I've been using a standard Norelco shaver that I bought at Kohls for $30 the past twenty years. It does a great job. I clean it with water and Dawn dish soap probably once every few weeks. Proverbs 28:1

This thread prompted me to look for a head shaver. The combination of good reviews for features and performance for the Remington Balder Pro, and the price, sent me to Amazon to order one. It arrived the other day. Based on a sample of one use to date, I am very impressed with it. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

I started with a bic at around 30 years old and used it for about 10 years. At around 40 I got tired of paying 1000000 dollars a month on 13 bladed replaceable cartrigdges for a mach 10 handle. I started using high quality safety blades for my face and head. It took me two or three months to fully learn all the areas of my head and face and how to shave them with my eyes closed using a DE shaver and shaving became a holistic event rather then a trivial chore. Now at 52 I shave face and head in about 6 minutes using a feather de with feather blades no nics and clean shave. I couldn't imagine an easier cleaner shave. First In Last Out
