Is there a site that you can put in one model of a car and it will give you a listing of all comparable models by maker?

I have an old beater Mazda5 that I'm trying to eke two more years out of and have been thinking about getting a Honda CRV or a Mazda CX-5 as my next car but I'm not sure if I'm comparing apples to apples here or not? The Mazda5 is roughly the same size give or take as a CRV and I like the height and how it drives but I'm not really sure it's considered the same category as the CRV and the fact that it's no longer made doesn't help things.

Thanks!

Not sure of a 'similar to' comparison site. But, most mfg websites have a 'compare' function on the specific model pages, but you have to know what you want to compare it to [see below]

But, to the OP. The CX-5 is still in production, and I would say it's a direct competitor to the CR-V

Others in that size:
Toyota Rav4
Nissan Rogue
Chevrolet Equinox/GMC Terrain
Ford Escape/Bronco Sport
Subaru Forester
Kia Sportage/Hyundai Tucson

Mazda CX-50 I think is a bit bigger & step up in price/lux.

The Enemy's gate is down.

Edmunds has a comparison tool that you can use.

Consumer Reports has a tool like that, but I don't recall whether it requires a membership or not.

Edmund’s is good, Consumer Reports also has a comparison feature.
I drove the previous generation of the CR-V and CX-5, and liked the driving of the CX-5 much better. Mazda also has the CX-50 now, same size range as the CX-5 but more upscale I guess.

I really like the looks of the new CR-V—looks like a BMW of the past, which is high praise.
I haven’t driven the new CR-V, and particularly not the hybrid which I would probably be most interested in.

I did a comparison of the CX-5, CX-50, CR-V and CR-V Hybrid on Edmunds. You can click on what you want to compare.

For me, I don’t like CVT’s, so would probably not get the regular CR-V.
And the price of the CX-50 puts it out of the comparison range. Wow.

And here’s a comparison page for the regular CR-V, hybrid CR-V, and CX-5 from Consumer Reports:

My wife and I just bought a new 2024 Mazda CX5 in December. We bought the Carbon Edition.

Everyone here was great helping us get some questions answered.

If you have any specific questions about the CX5 my wife who is a member her can answer any questions you might have. She is the one driving it most of the time so she did most of the research. she had done the research on several cars and the Mazda was the best fit for us based on our needs and budget.

I may be able to answer some questions also.

As my husband 71Truck mentioned above we just bought a CX-5 Carbon Edition. I had a RaV4 and liked the car but wrote them off as a replacement since dealers around us are still super low on inventory and still charging market adjustments, same with Honda and Nissan. I looked at a bunch of SUV/Crossovers but never thought of Mazda until a friend convinced me to looked at the Mazda CX-5. I did a lot of Youtube watching. I found lots of videos going over each model and some that compared the cars from different manufacturers. I also joined Facebook groups for the models and read posts and asked questions. It was because of Facebook and a mechanic and others in the group answering questions for me that I concentrated only on Mazda After a few visits to Mazda and a couple test drives I decided Mazda was what I wanted. I then researched what model I wanted. I can honestly say I LOVE the car! As a Mazda owner I know you know the brand.

I did look at the CX-50 too. It is the same size as the 5, but sits lower, and has a little more cargo area in the rear. It drives a little heavier than the 5 if that makes any sense and costs a few thousand more. The salesman said it is geared more towards the outdoors. I would suggest driving both.

I priced out the RAV4 and Bronco's with similar bells and whistles that I have in the CX-5 and both cars would cost thousands more.

The deal maker for us was Mazda had 0% financing for 60 months in December.

If you have questions I would be happy to answer them if I can.

Best of luck.
