Yeah a nice S2000 has more value as a limited use collectable classic than a driver.

No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

Same with the 1st gen NSX. Prices on them are insane.

I worked at a Honda dealer when the AP2 was still a new car, just before the CR came out.
Took many for gas runs after PDI, before they went on the lot.
Only ever driven 1 NSX & it was an older 5MT model, and just around the block.

We had a 2006 S2000 following 2 Miata’s. I bought it as a 3 year old with under 10,000 miles on the clock. At the time, we lived in Montana so we were lucky to get 6 months of use each year. We moved to Tucson 3 years ago where we had the whole year to enjoy it. About a year and a half ago, we sold it as we both have health problems that made it difficult to get out of the car.

We sold it in under a week for about twice what we paid for it with 56,000 miles of fun. This was our 4th convertible and we weren’t ready to be without so we bought a new BMW 430 convertible. While I miss the S2000, I love the new car.

That won't be a problem. They only came with a manual transmission. Wink You ate correct, Honda specifically designed the vehicle to beat the Porsche Boxter of that time.

Had a 2001 AP1 S2K on a staggered Volk Racing CE28N wheel setup (9" in front 10.5" in back). That thing was a blast to drive in the mountain canyons. I always knew it would be a collector car one day... wish I could have kept it.

My old Accord died with about 260k miles in the summer of 2007 so we went to look for a new one. My wife fell in love with a new S2000 in the showroom so we test drove it and we both loved it.

Unfortunately, I needed something with actual room so I ended up taking home a 2007 Accord EX-L with just about everything. I think it was the logical choice because it as a great car and was a pleasure to drive but I’d have to admit it wasn’t as much fun as the S2000.
