bendablea prediction inside
for three weeks I looked for a weeding fork, like this, at a dozen garage sales.
now that I went and purchased a new one.
The very next garage sale will have one for 75 cents.

3/4 of a penny?

You will have to buy all 4 just to make an even 3 cent purchase (not knowing how one makes change for a penny)

wcb6092I have one like that with a long handle. That short one you have must be really hard on the back. I would sell that short one in a yard sell if I were you.

83v45magnaThose can be pretty good for popping door panels and car trim off as well.

whanson_wiIf your prediction comes true, you'd better buy the 75center. That way you'll have one when you lose the expensive one weeding the garden.
Better buy a new lawnmower blade, too, for when you locate the lost weeder with your mower.

I would like to apologize to anyone I have *not* offended. Please be patient. I will get to you shortly.

old rugged crossThis thread reminded me how much I hate yard work and hot weather, damn, I just hate it.
Going to sell most of the yard tools in a yard sale this summer.
Get rid of all those F--kers.
Thanks for reminding me L.

RipleyHere's a pricier alternative but a great tool, the Fiskars Weed Puller.
https://www.amazon.com/Fiskars...=fiskars+weed+pullerCheck the video to see it work. I paid $25 a couple summers back. Really fun to use. After a couple springs of attacking dandelions, we pretty much have none now on a fairly big yard. Of course it also works well on any reasonably sized weed.
An added benefit is it's like a cane, big help for bending over as needed. Quick learning curve. Not suggested for use in too dry and hard conditions or sodden.
Far and away my favorite yard tool.

bendable68 y.o Myra loves to weed, and she is very good at it ,
The owners of my apt. complex hired her 6 years ago to take care of the weeds at their four apartments, here in tiny town.
I watched Myra, five weeks ago, out in the yard , doing her thing.
she's about 5 ft 5, with a head of all white hair, I,d say about 105 pounds with an arm load of groceries.
I took some water out too her then and saw that all she had was a screwdriver to use as a tool. I told her that I would find her the right tool at the next garage sale, and hopefully make her job , just a little bit easier.
It was only 75 degrees. back then and there was almost none of the eastern Iowa , oppressive humidity hanging about.
Well on Friday it was 88 degrees and 80% humidity , and there was Myra, for 6 hours , sitting on the grass jabbing and tearing, poking and ripping at the weeds around the back parking lot.
So I popped a pop in the refrigerated cooley cup and grabbed some water and ran it down the stairs for her.
Come to find out she was using a
Phillips screw driver! of all damn things.
I explained to her that no one had a weeding tool and apologized, a couple of times.
I knew that the tiny town tru value hardware carried such implements , so I hurried down to the store and purchased the tool for her to keep in her car, for the next time. She was grateful.
I did not notice it until she had gone , but there must have been two bushel of weeds , next to the cornfield , when she was done.
And now,
you know,
the rest
of
the story
