If a package is returned to a vendor shipped via a return label sent by the vendor, who has liability if the package is lost? Have not had this happen, just curious. Lick the lollipop of mediocrity once and you suck forever.

FOB (Free On Board). Enjoy ![]() My guess would be that, since the seller chose the shipper and paid for it, it would be the seller's liability--after the shipper accepted the item. N.B.: IANAL, nor do I play one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. "America is at that awkward stage. I just shipped back a BCG for a warranty return about a week ago. I had been emailed the UPS paid return label and wondered this myself. Asked the UPS lady the same question. She said that the vendor (or whomever issued the return prepaid label) sets the insurance level when the return label is generated. There evidently isn't an easy way for you to tell this amount because it's in the data of the barcode. She did mention that if you are in doubt you can actually buy additional insurance.

As you described it, it would be the vendor assuming there's a flag or a receipt generated that you dropped it off. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
