For those of you with music on your iPhones, how did you transfer them over from CD? iTunes? Is there another way? How big a memory do you have on your phones?

If you have iTunes on a Computer just load you CD in your computer and it will automatically rip it into iTunes. Otherwise there are numerous programs that will rip CD's into MP3's and load them onto your devices.

My Macbook is old enough that it does have a CD drive. Still kicking! I did use iTunes for a while, but had issues and learned it wasn't uncommon, so I'd prefer another method if you can suggest one.

I will sell you my truck. I thought I was mister fancy pants when I got it in 2002. It has both a CD player AND a tape deck!

My advice, go get your new phone, pay the little extra for the larger memory, and burn all the CD's to a music file (iTunes works for me). Download it to the new phone, and use it in the car (plug in or Bluetooth).

MP3 players aren't that expensive now. See if you can get a iPod (for just music, you'll have to go used because they don't make them anymore) and download the music on there too, and just leave it in the car.

I have a 6 core Mac Pro as my PC. An external CD/BluRay drive was an inexpensive add on. I've use it to Rip Blu-Ray's and CD' both.

A $50 add on CD/Blu-Ray player is a pretty cheap add on to a $5,000 computer...........

I want to say 12 or 15 speakers,
He down loaded 150 songs right in to the car computer.

He just talks to it and it plays what ever he asks for

I keep an old windows desktop with a dvd/cd writer and 3.5” floppy (!!!) around in case I need it. I use it to rip cds for my media server. My bmw rips cds to the hard drive so i used to do it that way. But it’s easier for me to rip what i want on the pc, copy to a flash drive, plug it in the car and then play off it or move it to the hard drive. But it’s a pita if i want to add songs so I just play off the usb stick

This does make sense...hoping iTunes will be cooperative. Could just be my fantastic computer aptitude. I was thinking about a 128g phone; should I go bigger? My current phone is a 64 and about maxed out with photos and personal music videos.

I had the same problem with my music on vinyl until I got one of these.

My 2005 F150 had a CD player but thats the last car/truck I can remember owning that had one.

All of my CDs have been ripped onto my iPhone. No need for a CD player when most modern stereos support Apple CarPlay.

I've been sneaker netting mp3 mixes using a fm transmitter in the cigarette lighter plug. When you get the micro sd cards, get the one that comes with the adapter. Here's the other adaptor you'll need. And a pic of the whole shebang:

Unless you are a serious audiophile (and a car is normally not the best place to hear music), it’s 2020.

Pay a few bucks a month and stream anything you’d like from Spotify, Amazon Music, Audible, Podcast apps...

We had a 56 Chrysler with an actual record player.

I like this. If I would have realized that my 2019 car had no CD player in it I would NOT have bought it.

Spotify streaming via playlists on my smartphone and connected thru Bluetooth. No More CDs to lose...and loose throughout the cabin. Problem(s) solved. With the mileage on my ears, being an "audiophile" is no longer an option...

 
My 2010 Tacoma has a single CD player, but I much prefer to plug in my iPod to the 3.5mm jack on the radio. Tons more music.

The only thing thats a pain about using the in-dash hard drive is that in the Honda it rips the whole CD but if you just want certain songs for playback you have to go into the cars hard drive and delete each songs that you don't wish to play on each CD. It's kinda a lengthy process so I've passed so far on that option and just use bluetooth. I may rip my all my CD's if I ever want to part ways with them.

In the past I have rip'd my CD's to iTunes on the computer but lost many of the songs when I upgraded to another iOS. I don't trust those newer iOS upgrades until they work out the bugs on a phone or computer nowadays. And it was time consuming to go back and re-rip all the CD's that didn't transfer over when I upgraded the iOS
