So a few years ago (2004-ish) I bought a bowl which the [Japanese] seller referred to as "spaghetti ceramic." Since that time, my ex stole/took this bowl (definition depends on story teller) and I am trying to figure out what it is called and if I can replace it. Here's the description: The base was solid (reminded me of a fine ceramic) with a 5mm lip and maybe 5" in diameter. The upper rim of the bowl was approximately 12" in diameter and 5" to 6" higher from the bowl's base. The wall of the bowl was made of 1/8" strands (like spaghetti) wound up, around the bowl with each strand going in opposite direction. (Weave created 1/4"(ish) gaps throughout the side that is, not a solid wall structure). The strands were woven almost like a basket weave. Each strand terminated above where it started at the base (cannot recall if the strands made a 360-degree or 720-degree circle around the bowl). So, a bowl with a 5" diameter base to a top of a 12" diameter, approximate 6" high and with sides of interlaced strands (like spaghetti) with an overall delicate. It's not made to hold liquid and/or veggies or other food. At best, maybe a candy/nut bowl? This sound familiar enough to anybody and maybe a direction [online] to purchase? Sounds familiar. But I seem to think the design is eastern European. Try Googling "ceramic basket weave bowl" or "Japanese bamboo art bowls" and see if it sets you in the right direction. | |||

Yes, very similar though with finer strands of ceramic and more of them. Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
