An off-duty San Bernadino County Sheriff’s deputy in a Toyota Camry took out an alleged cop killer who was fleeing police on a motorcycle around 1:30 p.m. Monday.

NBC News noted police were called around 12:30 p.m. regarding a man reportedly threatening a woman with a gun. An off-duty deputy, 28-year-old Andrew Nunez, responded to the call and was shot and killed.

The shooting suspect then fled the scene on a motorcycle. FOX 32 noted that a chase ensued “hit triple-digit speeds on the 210 Freeway.”

The chase ended when another off-duty deputy in a Camry drove “into the bike’s path on the 210 Freeway in the city of Upland.”

The alleged cop killer is expected to survive.

Nunez, the deceased deputy, was a six-year veteran of the sheriff’s department who leaves behind a two-year-old daughter and another baby was on the way.

This was glorious. Also the support of the Sheriff backing the off-duty cop for his actions to end the chase was refreshing.

Love the ending.

Bike bouncing and landing on him was sweet. Razz

I would offer to personally pay for that cop's Camry to get fixed if I thought that wasn't going to happen anyway.

More like a really surprising outcome.

The perp lived but expected to die in a blaze of glory. Now he dies in a maximum security prison in California.

ETA: I’ve wrecked like that at about that speed. It sucked.

I've had two friends crash like that when we were younger and getting a little crazy in the canyons. Having witnessed the accidents I would concur. It looks like crashing in that manner would totally suck.

Is the article correct in saying the responding sheriff was off-duty as well? Seems odd the sheriff office would dispatch an off duty officer to an active domestic dispute.

And so righteous that the officer nailed the puke. Just wish the guy was doing
120mph at point of impact and tossed into oncoming traffic. The CHP bikers didn’t have the acceleration needed to close the gap

I’m glad he’s gonna rot, but it turns my stomach for the widow and kids. Chain this piece of shit to a rock and make him dig graves.

No, the Camry driver was the off duty narcotics guy. He saw his chance to end it and thankfully did. Perp was probably trying to get his AR out of the bag at that point.

The article says the deputy that was killed while responding to the domestic violence call was off duty. The article is likely wrong. The article also says the slain deputy’s wife was expecting a baby and again the article is likely wrong.

The deputy who responded to the call with the deceased had already lost one partner in another case earlier in the year.

The suspect has now been named and is NOT with any law enforcement agency. Formal charges are still pending.

His widow is left with one daughter, 2, and another daughter on the way.

I did the youtube link and slowed the playback down to 1/4 speed and in slow motion it appears that the rider may have been sliding on his back when the motorcycle slammed into him. Cant say for certain that was his position because of lots of blur but one can home. Because if that is what happened it is likely he has a lot of broken ribs, an exceedingly painful injury. I hope this leads to pneumonia that slowly kills him due to impaired breathing.

I know, I shouldn't wish for an extremely long and cruel punishment but it's just so fitting for his crime.

I've stopped counting.
