fwbulldogA birthday bottle of bourbon.
1792 Sweet Wheat. It’s one of my favorites. Not a particularly special bourbon, but I’m fond of it. Kind of hard to come by these days.
My wife scored me a bottle from somewhere.
Life is good.

GrumpyBikerI’m a huge fan of 1792.
Irritates the snobs as it wins blind taste tests frequently.
Great value & I believe, great taste.

clangCongrats & Happy B-Day
I've never tried this bourbon. By us they sell "Small Batch 1792" in the same bottle. The price is quite reasonable. Is it similar?

GT-40DOC1792 bourbon is one of my favorite bourbons!! I have not seen a bottle of 1792 sweet wheat bourbon in the last 5 years!! I thought they were no longer distilling it. It is awesome stuff, and color me green with envy.

konata88I think the local market has 1792. Haven't paid attention to it since I didn't find it mentioned in the bourbon thread.
I'm new to bourbon. I like Buffalo Trace; the bottle of Larceny single barrel that I had less so.
How does 1792 compare to Buffalo Trace? I'm about 75% done with my BT bottle - need to decide soon to get another BT or try something different.

We made a trip of all the smaller distilleries.

These pics are from before they changed the name from Ridgemont Reserve 1792 (pre-lawsuit with Woodford Reserve)as can be seen on the barrel head in the first pic.

I’ve been searching for it for a while now. My wife found it on the secondary market somewhere. She won’t tell me what she paid for it. She said “it’s your birthday, so it’s none of your business”.
I also got a bottle of the small batch from my brother. It’s also pretty good. More bite, but it’s damn fine with an ice cube.
Having a glass now, having just made it through the tornado that hit Round Rock. My truck is probably totaled.
I think it’s good day to have a 2nd glass of sweet wheat.
