Just goes to show you that the stories that Chinese parents tild their children about the origins of the Japanese were more than just fairy tales

sigcrazy7When I joined this forum, nearly fourteen years ago, there were regular discussions here that involved members who were adamant adherents of Malthusian population theory. It has been quite some time since I’ve seen anybody who still believes in a worldwide population bomb.
Immigration is only a stop gap measure because the birth rate is falling everywhere. Why are fewer and fewer illegals at our southern border actual Mexican citizens? Because the Mexican birth rate is only a fraction of what it was fifty years ago. An increasing number of illegal crossings are from “pass through” immigrants originating elsewhere. Japan can empty the SE Asian countries, and it would just be in the same place fifty years from now. Japan’s demographic problem is the world’s problem, for the whole world will be there eventually. Japan is getting there first.
China is screwed. There is no way to reverse the mess they’re in, and by 2070, there will be half as many Chinese on the planet as today.
