Thought about this for the new members that are joining , all the time.

What if there was a way (web page) to log stuff that takes place on the SigForum.

A place to keep track of your Karma's ,both won and given.

particular dates: b-days, anniversary's of members, maybe your # of posts on a particular date, etc

photos or memes or gifs that you like

the threads that you want to refer back to

or posts by someone that need to be remembered.

members who are gone , people that have died

I sure wish I had something like this 16 years ago.

perhaps an address book for web addresses or snail mail addresses and phone numbers.

it would be great to attach a photo to a members
sigforum name to look back at , every now and again.

Maybe something like this already exists?

And for those of you sold stuff to or purchased stuff from. Personal stuff about members that you would like to remember, like who was in the air Force, when and what they did. Or where they grew up or what they do now , maybe this is what I could supply the forum with after winning the powerball lottery.

I have a personal file for some of that information, but it's personal. Anyone with a home computer can create their own files.

. As stated in the op, " for the newer members". It's too late for me, I'am a short timer, at this point. it would'nt be any more work for the mods, all of the entries would at the individual members needs.

perhaps the way to start is to create a room called The Logbook and let people share what they want - not overloaded with photos but perhaps a paragraph or two

It would be really good to also keep centralized records of the guns people own, how many rounds of each caliber they keep, and their stocks of food and precious metals.

Ok?

I'll start: Everything lost in tragic boating accident.

. No, the mods would have to moderate that,
that's not what I am proposing. Each individual members has a box that he taps that box when he wants to highlight and cut and paste info in to the his personal log book. No one else has access to that members log.

Don't take this personally, but I am always surprised by how many people have suggestions for things, but want someone else to do the work. I run across this in my personal life all the time. Just add a little more work for the mods, got it. Roll Eyes

from my second post in this thread
"maybe this is what I could supply the forum with after winning the powerball lottery."

This is Not a request for the owner operators to do additional work.

more like a fairy dream,

this post is my realization that
A. I never ever thought that I 'd be here for more than a year or three.

B. a lot of info has been offered here that I can no longer access

C. and even if I do remember who said what about a subject , I can not provide it to a third party , verbatim.

d.cache worthy stuff happens here on a regular basis, and 12 years from now , it would be nice if the guys joining now could access it.

I Figure $30.000 for someone like chance to right some code for a log,

and another $30,000.
to write some code that would allow a few proven
members to moderate the threads that they start ( only) ,would benefit the mods /owner greatly.
