Is that guitar really a bass? It's six string, and seems to small. It's also capable of hitting pretty high octaves.

Yep, six-string fretless bass. Apparently with a metal fingerboard. Some of the high notes you hear are actually harmonics. The level of difficulty here is extraordinary. I suppose that's what his estimated 20k hours of practice can achieve. Eek
