This has been in works for the past year and now seems to become a reality.

Philips Mask Selector: A 3D scanning system for data-driven PAP mask fittings

Philips Mask Selector: A 3D scanning system for data-driven PAP mask fittingsPhilips has developed a novel solution utilizing a three-dimensional (3D) facial scanner and associated software to assess facial anatomy characteristics, which aims to make the mask fitting process more efficient. In a randomized controlled trial, the use of a novel, automated mask fitting system resulted in fewer masks being used during the initial fitting process and over 90-days, compared to usual care, as well as significantly lower average mask leak. Although adherence was similar between arms, participants in the Mask Selector arm expressed a significantly higher level of confidence in, and satisfaction with, the mask selection process compared with usual care. The mask, aka the interface is THE most important component for successful outcomes.. not the blower unit.

Wonder what the time to market will be on this? And better yet, time to my iPhone app? That would be pretty straightforward you would think.

My understanding it is a device, on its own, that takes 3d imagery scan uploads to your computer system and then lists appropriate styles to the dealer, the mask(S) best suited for you. We have requested this system for our retail store but have no details/time frame yet. We are being told "very soon" we offered to be a beta site.

I do not see this as app, per se

I did it the old fashioned way, LOL Big Grin

Went through 5 masks until I found the one that works for me.

That is a very interesting idea and would cut way down on people giving up on it I think.

I went through several masks before I landed on the one I use now; I'm not even ecstatic about it, but it seems to work OK.

It's like a face holster. We usually end up with a drawer full of different ones that didn't work so well.
