Bubba Wallace Leaving Petty
Let’s see the patience of Jordan / Hamlin.

Should be more difficult to play the race card on Jordan. I just don’t believe deep down Bubba is that good a driver.

Too bad nowadays sponsorship dollars mean more than on track talent *cough* Danica Patrick *cough*. I'm sure the new team will have no trouble with funding. Bubba will get an upgrade in equipment too, effectively being a 5th Gibbs car.

Sponsorship dollars have been a thing for a long time, just without racial connotations in the past.

Does anyone think Jr to Hendrick was because of his talent behind the wheel? Honestly?

Does anyone think Paul Menard would have a job anywhere other than his dad’s lumber yard if he didn’t have a 20+ million dollar sponsor he brought with him?

What Jordan/Hamlin is doing is purely a publicity stunt, but it’s far from the first time.

My brother, who had some experience with Nascar used to say that Junior was a nice guy but if it weren't for his daddy, he'd be working behind the counter at a NAPA store.

Would love to meet a guy behind the counter at NAPA who won 26 Nascar races...

In another purely race based move, DanNiel Suarez was signed by a new team for next year.

At least they aren't hiding why they hired him. I remember when competing used to be about winning...

Back when Nascar used to be about competing?

In years past, I attended multiple races each season. However, those days are long gone.

Nascar is a joke now. Its product is almost unwatchable now. Boring races. Sometimes the only cautions are the ends of stages. “Cookie cutter “ 1 1/2 mile race tracks all over the country. Covid has provided them an excuse for all of the bare aluminum showing in the stands.

I cannot envision any changes that they could make that would bring me back.
