Yep, had all those except U-Boat, plus PanzerBlitz, a boatload of Avalon Hill/SPI games, War in the East, Breakout & Pursuit, etc. etc. Plus many years of games included in Strategy & Tactics subscription in the '70s. Still have most of around somewhere, though why I'm doing that is arguable. Also played a bunch of others non military sim games, some noted above. Monopoly, Risk and Stratego were neighborhood faves and I could get opponents over to play those at a drop of a hat back in the day. One sunny day we had set up tables outside in the yard for a bunch of games, and I wore my favorite mirrored sunglasses....lost every game of Stratego I played that day, which was odd as usually I more than held my own...then my buddies told me that mirrored sunglasses are not what you want to wear, playing Stratego. ![]()

Absolutely and I've still got them, all carefully stored in a USMC Footlocker with the arrow head symbol for the 5th tank battalion. Who knows, when I get to the end of the internet I might have some time on my hands. _______________________

I owned and played a few different games from Avalon Hill - my favorite by far Kingmaker, The War of the Roses Game. Also had Alexander the Great and Caesar: Epic Battle of Alesia. My neighbor had Tactics II and Diplomacy. I still have the Kingmaker game. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tomorrow's battle is won during today's practice.

My brother and I always got board games for Christmas; they were cheap (my parents did not have a lot of money to spend on gifts), and we could share them. Here are some of them- ![]() ![]() ![]() Also had Monopoly, Stratego, Caroms, etc. We also had one of those "Electric Football" games, with the vibrating field, and little players with felt underneath. Piece of shit game. But this one was our absolute favorite, played it for years. ![]() "I’m not going to read Time Magazine, I’m not going to read Newsweek, I’m not going to read any of these magazines; I mean, because they have too much to lose by printing the truth"- Bob Dylan, 1965

Well, I did have "vibration-based" electric football game - with all the little players about an inch or so tall. I retired it to the closet once I discovered the game of "Spin-the-bottle" at all the weiner-roast parties in the neighbor-hood. Alas, I have neither the football game or the RC cola bottle from those days. (I still have great memories from the bottle fun - the football game good-times have kinda faded out!)

Cooties. About 40 years back when I asked Edna, one of the WW1 Auxilliarys up at the VA Hospital (these were women who served cake and cookies to vets and had intentionally called their organization "Cooties") why they called themselves "Cooties" (an alternative name for Crab Lice), she said, "Why, it's because we attach ourselves to our men". ![]()

I only had Midway. Seems like it took days to complete, and took up the majority of the living room floor. I forget now where it was, but an antique store we visited seemed to have all the Avalon Hill games. I was amazed how many there were. Somewhere we still have it stored away, along with Dogfight, a game I had forgotten until mentioned by erj_pilot. Yea, spent way too much time with these. 3rd Reich with friends at least one Saturday per month. -.-. --.- -.-. --.- -.-. --.- -.-. --.- It only stands to reason that where there's sacrifice, there's someone collecting the sacrificial offerings.
