I suppose the day of your birth should be considered as the top date. But, since everyone will have the same thing (a birth date), I just decided to leave it out. Also, not everyone likes to share that piece of private info in public. So...go!

03/24/90 I got married to my beautiful bride. That’s the only one I can recollect.

* 23 August, 1955, Enlisted in the army
* mid June, 1956, got on ship for transport to Germany
* Mid June, 1957, While on major 7th army exercises, spent several days on a hilltop above a small village just outside Gelnhausen. Why was this important? Because that is the village I went back to on leave, and met my future wife the first evening there. An interesting point here: I spoke 3 words of German: Bier, wein, taxi. The proprietors of the little "hotel" where I was staying asked her to tell that they did not allow girls in the rooms.

Long story about how that evening ended up lasting all night, but better at another time.

Anyway, she had to ride the train to Frankfurt for her job, and I was at the bus stop when she left for Frankfurt, spent the day waiting and rode the train back. Did the same thing several days later. Found out later that she told her parents after knowing me for 2 days that she was going to marry me. The laughed. In May, it will have been 61 years ago.

So, I think that the day I went back to that little German town was very significant in my life. Or, perhaps when I enlisted with the provisions that I was assigned to Germany, as a 17 year old.

Hmmm.

November 22, 1963, the day JFK was assassinated. My 12 year-old world changed that day.
October 13, 1973, I married my first wife.
September 11, 2001, war came to America. It's still being fought.
June 21, 2003, I married my second wife.

January 23rd 1997 - Day I left for Parris Island
October 9th 1999 - Day I got married
April 6th 2007 - Birth of my son
October 27th 2008 - Birth of my daughter.

Don’t have a 5th right now but I expect it will be the day my divorce is finalized

November 18, 1972 got married still with same lady today
May 1983 I graduated from college at age of 34
August 23, 1983 birth of my son
December 22, 2006 my son sworn in as a Las Vegas Metro officer and I got to put my old uniform on and pin his badge on for the first time

Sept 27, 1971 joined US Navy
April 7, 1973 Got married to my High School Sweetheart
Sept 24, 1975 Got out of US Navy
June 14, 1975 1st daughter born at Charleston Naval Hospital.
March 28, 1976 Accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior

9/8/83 Moved to Texas as a 13 year old boy - this new adventure completely reshaped who I was as a person.

9/11/01 Lived in Manhattan at the time. It was the first time I really understood how much evil and danger is in the world. It profoundly affected me in many ways that last to the present time.

9/29/01 Married Mrs. CSM. Had to drive halfway across the country because neither us wanted to fly so soon after 9/11.

10/2/02 Finally found the career I was meant to do (almost 2 years after quitting my lawyer job).

3/15/13 Moved to Florida, initially as a snowbird, but ended up staying for good.

7-13-2004 my daughter was born

3/17/1989 - First date with future Mrs slosig.
3/17/1991 - Married Mrs. slosig.
3/20/2000 - Bought the ranch with Mrs. slosig.

The happy significant:
7/13/84 (Friday the 13th)-1st date with the future Mrs.
9/5/87-Married Mrs tk13
6/21/91-Birth of son #1, A.J.
5/24/94-Birth of son #2, Ben

The sad significant:
8/5/13-Death of son, A.J.

The last one has had the most profound impact upon my life. I have suffered the loss of many important people in my life including both my parents, many other relatives, and close friends. None has or ever will hit me as hard.

12/13/1985 My birthday and the first day I met my wife. Oh, she hated me. Too cocky.
4/13/1982 My adopted daughter was born (didn't know her yet)
4/13/1985 Adopted my daughter
2/22/1988 My son was born

Other than my wedding day and the birth of my son, the most significant day has to be 9/11/01. That day changed my life, redefined my politics and how I looked at life in the U.S. A game changer for sure.

02/20/83: Sobriety date;

All the other dates in my life really do not matter, despite what happened on those days;

#3, 21 Feb 1960, the day I reported to my first USAF duty station.
#4, 31 Mar 1975, the day I was RIFed for failure to be promoted to Major.
#5, retirement from USAF 1 Apr 1980.
And now I'm going to cheat:
#6, 18 Sep 1984, the day my dad died.
#7, 3 Jan 2000, the day my sister died.
#8, 23 Sep 2002, the day my mother died.
(When you've lived as long as I have, it's hard to limit significant events to just 5.)
