The first I remember was a Casio G Shock. I got it around 12-13. It was marketed as indestructible, I wanted to test that. It was not. My parents were not amused.

I think I owned for less than a week.

My mother I and went out to Tucsan to visit an aunt. We of course did gun fights and rodeos. It was the greatest thing I had ever scene of course!

I can't recall, I think it was actually my mother's aunt. At any rate, she gave me a little cowboy watch. I couldn't have been more proud.

The arm holding the gun moved like he was shooting every second.

Earliest i remember was a Seiko watch my father brought from Japan. Beautiful and cluttered watch with japanese and english characters date. Mid 70s or earlier.

When it broke, nobody in Europe could fix it.

The earliest I recall was a cheapy battery Timex which filled up with water during my surgery elective in med school. Next was a better quality battery Swiss Army with a gray case, red bezel and black leather strap. Wore that through several battery and strap changes till I got tired of changing batteries and gifted it to a friend.
Next was a Seiko dive watch; pepsi, if I recall, with their very low end automatic movement; if I didn't wear it every day, the next day it would be stopped. Went through a couple of those with different colored bezels, till I finally could afford a quality watch, a mid-size James Bond Omega automatic. Still wear that from time to time...

I finally found it. The only thing I have from all four Grandparents is an Elgin watch from my dads dad. Given to me in about 1970 when I was ten. It was too small for him to read.
Been in my garage for 35 years, I wound it up, it doesn't keep good time. But it's the only memento I have from my Grandfather.

I work less than a mile from where your watch was made.

My first watch was a Timex, when I was probaby about 7 years old, circa 1968. It had that metallic link elastic band. I've had this watch for as long as I can remember in my box of mementos, and I think this is it, but I can't swear it. The band is long gone, and at some point I tied some string to it just so I could hang on to it. Again, I can't swear this is it, but it's certainly close.

It's about 1 inch in diameter, maybe a little less.

I think that's what I had. Twice while tossing things off my truck something snagged on the band and tore it off my hand along with some skin. Haven't worn a watch in 45 years!
