Latest Carving Project - Retirement gift for a friend
To add to the eclectic nature of items found in the Lounge…
My latest carving project was a bit of an odd duck. A friend, fellow Jarhead and fellow prison guard just retired. He & his wife both retired and as of this week moved to Alabama.
She worked with the Red Cross & they’re dog lovers.
I told him I was going to carve something for him and asked what he’d like. That’s when he laid all the above on me and asked if I could somehow put all of that as well as the date of their marriage into a carving.
That was a head scratcher. But he chose the font and this layout and I got busy on it finishing up 3days before they moved.
While I don’t like painting a carving it’s what he wanted .

What a great gift for your friend! I always enjoy seeing your work. Each picture as it progressed looked better and better, then the final product was WOW!

I would like to try doing projects like that someday.
