I don't either, but that's the way it works with cars and other vehicles. In any state I've ever purchased a vehicle in, the sales tax has always been calculated on the pre-rebate price. The money from the rebate was never in my hands and yet I still paid the sales tax on it. That money went from the manufacturer directly to the retailer. I think this is the same type of transaction at B&H Photo and why NY is taking issue with it. I suspect NY will win.

Toxic to every business large and small and they can't figure out why all the companies and all the jobs are leaving.
