I get my glasses from Zenni Optical. I use progressive glasses and noticed that they have a mid-range option. I was very curious about this option and ordered a pair. If you can’t see your iron sights these glasses give you 20 year old eyes! You can clearly see your sights and your target! I have a screenshot of the lens from their website but have no idea how to post it on this site.

Nice! One may be able to create glasses tuned to your own reading, computer, and far distance prescriptions.

My eye doc gives me a very specific lens grinding that opens up the area where you look at medium distances aka “front sight”. I also need to see very fine work close up.
When I visited him I explained the distances I need to see at and he said he had the perfect solution which is a very different “progressive” lenses technology. This maximizes for the focal distance you use the most… For me, arm’s-length and very close.
Most progressive lenses have typically a very small area to try to grab with your eye. The downside to the new grind is the long range vision is a bit compromised i.e. driving. I just take them off for driving and see fine.
I made this change when I went to the range and realized I was tilting my head way back to look through the bottom of the lens. No more.

I have a set of those from Costco, they are my computer glasses, eliminates all the problems with typical progressives and close up computer monitor work...

I know there's single focal, bi-focal, and progressive. I think the progressive doesn't give enough field vision so Zenni must be doing tri-focal instead.

Mine are progressive, no lines, they change the way the lens is made so that mid to close range viewing is larger, longer distance area is smaller.
This allows for better viewing on mid and short range items. You can still see distance but you have to look up through the top of the lens.
It's just a shift in how the lens is ground.
With standard progressive grinds I was constantly having to hold my head up to read the screens with my progressive hurting my neck... Now it's no longer necessary.

In fact, mine isn’t even horizontally linearly progressive; it’s radial/polar or sumpthin’ … Big wide spot in front of my eye is for arm’s-length viewing.
The lens grind has “zones” with progression for transition. Zones are just not in the traditional places. They are optimized.

Screw your progressive lenses. You want a game-changer? Get a red dot sight. And I say that as someone who prefers iron sights. I have moderate astigmatism, so pistol RDS generally don't help me much, but for those w/o astigmatism and suffering from presbyopia, RDS can be a godsend.

I have dots and scopes. I prefer iron sights. I shoot them just as well as dots.

Agree RDS changes the game, I still have to wear my glasses when the RDS is used because without them my astigmatism will present a blurred or multiple dots.
The glasses discussed change the focal length and help with that as well converting two dots into one or eliminating the starburst dots.
Interesting in that some optics look better than others, presume it's the quality of the optic lens. Sigs optics seem to be clear, at least for me.

I took a different path. I have myopia, presbyopia and astigmatism and I went with monovision. Solves all of those problems at the same time without the hassle of bifocals or progressives, plus the red dot is round to me and I can see the front sight clearly on irons.
What's not to like?

Wearing the glasses that I do requires no thought on my part. The brain handles all the eye-movement automatically. And I can see everything perfectly clear. Actually better than ever before.

The brain handles all of it for me also. My right eye is set up for midrange and distance. I see objects clearly from around 3 feet away to infinity and my left eye is set up for close up, I see clearly from perhaps 7" to 2-1/2 feet.
So I see the front sight perfectly and sharp with one eye and the target perfect and sharp with the other eye.
After you've done monovision for a while, for me it was around 10 minutes, the brain sorts it all out for you and there's no conscious thought plus clarity doesn't change as you move your head up and down like it does with progressives and bifocals.

I have always used a pair of .5+ powered readers. Just enough magnification to help acquire the front sight but not so much as to completely blur the target. If I was ambitious I would pull the lens out of the non-dominate side of the glasses.
