Alea iacta est |
My wife sometimes does things that completely blow me away. She truly shocks me with her perception of details and remembering them. This is one of those instances. She did all of this because she knows I have been a little out of sorts and “wanted to give me a boost and cheer me up”. Well, she delivered in spades. My wife has been pretty sick for the last twelve days. She caught the CCP Virus, or Wu-Flu. It has been kicking her ass. So while she has been in the house and bored, she made some calls. Let me back up a bit here and not get the cart too far ahead of the ox. Back in June, we decided to sell my Jeep and we were going to look at getting a place in Florida. So the Jeep sold and I had planned on getting a new gun. Well, life was busy and it just never happened. Fast forward a month and it’s now mid-July. Some things changed and I was no longer looking to get a new gun as it just wasn’t the right time. Fast forward to August… We went on vacation earlier this month on a scouting trip to Florida. Probably on the plane ride home, or who knows when, my wife caught the CCP Virus. So I’ve been doing a lot of things around the house, painting, fixing little things that have been neglected, and she’s been on the phone. She has also squirreled away a good chuck of cash, as she always does. On Thursday she told me she wanted to go to the pawn shop down the road as she was feeling better. This isn’t that unusual as she likes to see if they have any jewelry, which they never have. They are also a Glock and SIG authorized dealer so I don’t mind going as I can peruse the inventory. So we get there and instead of going to the back where the jewelry is, she walks over to the gun counter says “Hi, I’m Mia”, and the guy whips out a 365 Legion. She smiles and says she’s buying this for me, but she won’t do the government paperwork. (Probably has to do with the history of Korea, and that her father worked for the South Korean military/government, but she does not like the government knowing anything about her. She fears retribution from the government and says it’ll happen faster than you can imagine.) So for me, there are a few levels of awesomeness. She actually does listen when I talk about guns and other stuff. She took notes, and looked at my YouTube history. She called around and found one in stock. She friggin remembered that I wanted the 365 Legion! I really was shocked. So this morning I went out to the local shooting area. Set up my target steel and shot two hundred rounds. I have never been so accurate with a handgun. Staying on target was easy. The built in compensator works remarkably well. It’s a very flat shooting pistol. The muzzle flip is negligible. Now bear in mind I have been shooting a Kimber Micro 9, no porting or comps. It has a very small grip and it’s not easy to hold and control. I have always been a poor shot with it. There is the possibility that shooting the Kimber and being used to it, makes the Legion feel very easy to control. I shoot the Legion much more accurately than my P228, so I’m not really sure. I couldn’t find a holster for it, so the guys where I bought it suggested a local holster maker, High Desert Custom Kydex. He was a Marine Corps Sniper, and served 21 years for the Cottonwood PD, retiring as a Sargent. (I grew up with him as well). I spoke with him and he said he has made around 10k holsters. I figured for $50 it was worth a shot. It’s a damn good holster. I’m very impressed at its conceal-ability, and it’s pretty comfortable. I do see an RGrizzle holster in the future, but he’s 16 weeks out, and I want to carry this before Christmas. All in all I am very happy with this little pistol. It’s a great gun and shoots amazingly well. It wouldn’t be a good post without pics, so here are some pictures! The “lol” thread

Very nice! She's a keeper that one! Tell her you have always dreamed of a Holland and Holland double in .470 Nitro Express and let us know how it goes! Dang dude! You scored big time with the pistol but especially with the wife! Does she do spouse counseling sessions by any chance??? That was a very neat story. -------- After the game, the King and the pawn go into the same box.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your replies. The Holland and Holland is out. That’s 2/3 of a house! She’s definitely a keeper. After 21 years, I would hope so. She certainly pulled off a good one this time. She would LOVE to do counseling sessions. I would feel bad for anyone who would have to sit through it though. 21 round!?!? I was packing a Kimber Micro 9. I just went from 7+1 to 17+1. I feel like I’m carrying a boatload of ammo. The length of the grip makes it a little harder to conceal, but it’s worth it for the extra rounds, accuracy, and overall awesomeness of this pistol. The “lol” thread

I think that he is considering a relocation to Florida and has looked at The Villages, where a fancy golf cart, not a Jeep, is the officially mandated vehicle. Hmmmm . . . what's really needed is an EV convertible! How come none of the EV manufacturers offer these? הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

I am no expert but my guess is that that EVs weigh so much due to the battery packs a convertible would be absolutely catastrophic in a roll over situation without an astronomical cost in some sort of reinforced targa style setup. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. V-Tail is mostly correct. Yes, planning on relocating, most likely to The Villages, and a golf car is much more useful than a Jeep. I am into rock crawling. Florida doesn’t have much for me in terms of off roading. I also don’t/wont off road in mud. Deciding to invest money into appreciating assets, not the rapidly depreciating ones… The “lol” thread
