| I have a Honda single stage to clear the light stuff. I can usually tackle those by hand but the blower is faster. I use the wheeled Honda two stage for more or heavier snow. Love it. Almost always starts on the first pull. The single stage would not handle what you’re trying to do.
I keep an Ariens Compact 24 at my parents’ house. I started it a week before last week’s storm and it was still a pain to get started. I’m guessing the carb is a bit dirty, but it’s never been easy to start the first storm. Oh, the pull string snapped on October 30th too. I add Stabil to my gas, but I’m guessing I need to upgrade to ethanol free gas, which only comes in cans in my area. If it matters to you, the Compact 24 has the AXG engine, which is made in China. I was bummed when I bought it, but I bought it used so it didn’t hurt as much. If you’re an Ariens fan, go bigger than the Compact 24. I can’t get great throw on the plow packed snow |

| I finally broke down and bought one after several heavy snowfalls in 2018. Did it by hand for years and years. You will wonder why you waited so long!
