I am sorry to read about your father's cancer diagnosis. I've known people who lived with a terminal cancer diagnosis for years, and ones who only had months. Spend as much time as you can with him before the end phase. Prayers for your family and you during this time.

Very sorry to hear that. Make the most of all the time you have together — hopefully it’s longer than what the doctors are estimating. Only the Good Lord knows how much time any of us really have.

I’m sending positive vibes your way. Make the minutes count. Take lots of pics and make the most of what you have. Try and help where you can, but remember to take care of you, too.
Many of us aren’t given deadlines on life. It just happens. And I agree with the poster that said many outlive their diagnosis.
Fuck cancer.

Sorry for the news and praying that he's able to fight it off and that you and your family are able to enjoy whatever time he has left with him.

James,
Sorry to hear this but as many others have already posted, it gives you the opportunity to maximize the time left.

Thank you to everyone.

I am very happy we get some time together, I’ve already been down twice this year to reconnect and spend time together. We’ve had a blast, after many years we’re still the same person. Kind crazy how similar we are. He’s really toned down his extreme views and in some ways done a 180.

I’m leaving Wednesday for GA to spend 10 days. He says he wants to bow hunt and drink a bunch of beer before starting chemo lol.

I never know what to write to yall when bad news comes, in this instance it’s no different. I don’t know what to say to comfort him and that kinda sucks, so I’ve just been calling everyday and chatting about whatever. Hopefully that helps take his mind off it.

His nurse here is incredible, he’s got appointments nearly every day for the next couple weeks so he’ll be busy, but he’s gonna take advantage of bow season this weekend. They put his port on the left side so he could still shoot Big Grin

It sounds like his spirits are pretty good and he will make the best use of the time he has.

Prayers and best wishes for both of you.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I remember the day my father laid all the guns out into the middle of the floor in the living room and told each of us to pick one until they were gone.

The reality set in right then and there. I was only 24.

I'm sorry this is happening to you.
