I voted the first day of early voting in Texas. My lovely wife and I even had our picture taken in line on the local news. I RED the ballot and voted.

I voted today. There was about a half hour wait, so it wasn't to bad.

The wife and I sat on our mail in ballots for 2 days while we researched the "Judge" races. It's hard as hell to find out about their track record. We're done with the research and ballots dropped off instead of mailing. Go President Trump and JD Vance.

Got my early ballot and filled it out today.

I don't trust the mail service around here and am going to hand carry my ballot in on Monday.

Voted early on Friday in my strongly democratic county. Felt very out of place but felt good. It seemed like all the poll workers didn't like us....

Went to early vote at my closest polling place. 1.5 hour wait at 4PM. Went to the university, same thing. Going to another town that I've heard is less busy around 9AM to hopefully not have to wait 1+ hours.

Voted today. Arrived 1 hour before the doors opened and took 30 minutes to complete with 40 or so people in front of me. Wife is still employed, so I'll get her there Saturday.

Check with the State/County GOP offices see if they have recommendations, short of that I check the judicial pages for all state courts in FL, it shows you the background and what Governor appointed them.

For example if Judge B was appointed by DeSantis or Scott both R, they get an ok, if he/she was appointed by Charlie Crist or say Lawton Chiles a D - gets a no...

Voted over lunch today. Early voter turnout vastly exceeds available amount of parking at nearest early voting location. Amount of time waiting for a parking spot equaled amount of time spent in-line and voting.

Wife and I voted last Thursday. Though the actively voting slots were all full, there was no one in line and any of five people to receive you, check your ID, find you in the registry and have you sign for your paper ballot. Total of 1 minute. 30 more seconds and spots opened up. Scanning machine sucks it up, you take your sticker and Bob's your uncle.

In and out.

My wife and my parents went to the library today to early vote. The parking lot was completely full... people were parking in nearby neighborhoods. The line was two hours. They couldn't wait.
They will probably now wait until election day.
The lines on election day will probably be short.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

If history is any indicator, my county's election day won't be many voters either.
  • In 2022, early voting out-paced election day voting 2:1.
  • In 2020, early voting out-paced election day voting by nearly 7:1.

I almost forgot to include the best part of today. For 2/3 of the local elections, the only choice was a Republican.

I voted today. No lines at all. The only downer was that all the county level positions open for election were held by incumbent Democrats. Every position! No Republicans even ran for office. Roll Eyes

    Dropped off my ballot today.

I live in a tiny Chicago exurb, population around 5,000. When I got to the village hall, the parking lot was packed with cars. Inside, there were lots of folks doing early in-person voting.

While I don't know who these folks are voting for, I think this kind of energy is great news for Trump.
