I love 5.11 pants. I've pretty much worn them exclusively for 6-8 years or so now. So I was excited today when i got an email earlier saying they've got a buy one get one 50% off sale going on today. I stocked back up, and I figured I'd let everyone here know in case they were interested.

"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."

Do you choose to wear these pants for their durability? Or for their looks or because of the pockets ?

Are they extraordinarily comfortable ?

Are there special washing instructions?

I have banned the wear of 5.11 and other types of tacticool pants for my company during events which require civilian attire. Too many people looking like they want to be private security contractors overseas

The good news is that 5.11 now offers a wide variety of styles of pants, including several that look no different from normal casual khakis. It's not just their usual tactical cargo pants these days.

So it's possible to wear 5.11 without looking like a cop or a mercenary.

Then take a look at these. They're about half that price.
