Slow/non selling stuff gets cut to pennies in some cases. I snagged 8 bottles of Titebond green label wood glue (10oz) for $0.29 each.

were the sale items located in a certain area of the store ?? or did you have to walk around the store 'treasure hunting' for sale items?

might be worth a look Smile

A little of both. They also dump special order returns super cheap. Need a window, door, flooring, etc for a project and don’t care about color or style? Go ask at the pro counter about stuff like that.

That is weird. Normally, companies end their fiscal year after the highest volume quarter. I can't imagine November, December, and January to be their highest sales months.

I did confirm that's their fiscal year alright.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Before my wife retired from Lowe's , one of her store managers used to come to her with the " Non Stock " mark downs before they hit the floor . Anything that was discontinued was called " Non Stock " and they wanted it gone NOW . My best score was a couple of Surefire flashlights for a couple of bucks each .

People even bring back their Christmas trees for a refund, tinsel included. Big Grin

Walmart also ends their fiscal year last week of January/first week of February.

BTW, people scoring $10 fire pits at Lowe’s today.

I went to Costco in between Christmas and New Years and was amazed at how many people were returning Christmas lights, trees and other decorations.

Was in there today. A 3/4 4x8 sheet of oak plywood is still over a 100 dollars.

My daughter worked at a store for about a year, but our best deal on a non-stock item was a Weber Genesis grill that the week before was displayed and priced at around $800. This grill was new in the box and was going to be shrink wrapped on a pallet and sent back to a clearance warehouse somewhere. With the clearance price plus my daughter’s discount, I was able to get it for her at $288 with sales tax included. Never had a better deal than that before or since.

Thanks for the tip! Mrs Kevbo is likely headed to Lowe’s later today!

Going to Costco and Lowes is right down the street. Looks like I’ll see what deals they have today.
