Wasn't a huge fan of the idea, but it's something new at least.

Thanks for that. I will miss watching that annual run. I assumed the winner (no spoilers!) but wonder how they extrapolated the data- also I didn’t hear California Chrome in there.. wasn’t that a crown winner too?
Eta: ah, yes, damn, I can’t believe I forgot Tonalist and the Belmont. I think that’s the year I finally realized some folks could rest their horses between big races- I always (foolishly) thought if you were in for one, you were in for all 3.

The KD has been rescheduled for September. I too enjoy the triple crown. These are the only athletes I don’t mind seeing pampered.

i Posted last year about how many horse get injured and put down due to this so called sport.

I would hardly call it "pampered". It is disgusting really imho.

My wife, a former Jockey, yawned when I mentioned this to her to gauge her interest. I thought she would want to see it.

She does want to see the Derby again, but a trip to the Belmont Stakes is required first

F that. I live in Louisville and this is nothing but a bread and circuses distraction.

Looks like I'll have to treat myself to a virtual Mint Julep later on...or maybe just make the mint virtual!

I agree that the outcome could well be predicted. The stated that they did extensive programming about each horse to get a legitimate outcome.

I agree with above. I wasn't really chuffed to see this, but it's a couple minutes, and somewhat interesting.

Though he wasn't a Triple Crown winner I'd rather have seen Seabiscuit than War Admiral. As much as he would come off the pace & had that will to refuse to lose I think he'd be an interesting pairing with Secretariat than War Admiral as a mid pack also-ran. Regardless, wouldn't have changed the outcome.

In general I like well programmed virtual contests from across different eras, but I wasn't really fired up about this one.

This is nothing more than the nation-wide launch of Churchill Downs’ current “historical racing gaming system” that is their version of slot machines, since slots are technically illegal in Kentucky.
